The family unveiled a series of menacing messages purportedly sent by Ashley's ex-husband, lawyer Dylan Edward Houston, amid a bitter custody battle over their two children.

Ashley Prince's ongoing battle before her tragic murder
Concerns over Ashley's safety were evident as she sought advice on private security due to Dylan's possession of numerous firearms. Julie Page, Ashley's mother, recounted her daughter “lived in constant fear for her safety and that of her children. She battled relentlessly, and unfortunately all our fears became a reality.”
“At one point, he went several months without seeing the children, because of drug use. Once he was allowed visitation, he was under supervision. It never seemed to bother him.” Despite legal interventions, including a restraining order and court-ordered communication restrictions. “Dylan, however, did not stop the abuse and threatening messages, but never faced any consequences from the court,” Julie claimed.
Dylan has refuted having any prior awareness of his father's assault. Dana Dwiggins, the attorney representing the Pages, informed that the Princes were “fighting for sole custody of Ashley’s two oldest children” when the tragedy occurred.
Dwiggins also stated that the Pages intend to submit a petition for guardianship over the children. Julie asserted, “we are determined to carry on her legacy and fight to ensure the long-term safety of our grandchildren.”
