NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: In a powerful display of unity and compassion, the tragic death of NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller has sparked an unprecedented outpouring of support from individuals across the nation.

With donations pouring in from citizens, influential figures, and organizations alike, a staggering sum of over $2 million has been raised to support Diller's grieving family, as per New York Post.

Prominent figures have pledged substantial contributions

Leading the charge are prominent figures from various sectors who have pledged substantial contributions. Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy promised to match the staggering $750,000 raised through his website's store, totaling an impressive $1.5 million.

The New York Police and Fire Widows' and Children's Benefit Fund has pledged an initial $50,000 and an annual stipend of $10,000 for Diller's widow, Stephanie. Additionally, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation has vowed to cover the mortgage on the Diller family's home in Massapequa Park.

Beyond the high-profile donations, the outpouring of support from everyday citizens has been equally remarkable. A GoFundMe campaign set up by a member of the NYPD Scuba team has garnered over $700,000 from 9,500 donors in just four days.

Organizations like COPSHOT and the Silver Shield Foundation have also stepped forward, with the latter offering financial assistance for the education and future of Diller's 1-year-old son, Ryan.

Diller, a 31-year-old officer with just three years of service, was fatally shot during a routine traffic stop in Queens. The encounter escalated into a shootout when career criminal Guy Rivera, 34, allegedly opened fire, striking Diller beneath his protective vest. Despite his injuries, Diller managed to wrestle Rivera's gun to the ground.

A third individual offered gratitude, stating, "Thank God," while another acknowledged the significance of the fundraising efforts, noting, "This is great news however no amount of money will replace the loss of Officer Diller for his wife son and family. END THE NO BAIL NO LAW. KEEP DANGERS CRIMINALS WHO ARE ARRESTED OFF THE STREETS."
