Becky G shows support for the immigrant community during Karol G’s Coachella Weekend 2 guest set

INDIO, CALIFORNIA: Becky G shared an encouraging message for the immigrant community as she joined Karol G as a guest performer during the latter’s Coachella 2026 weekend two headlining set.

The duo teamed up to deliver a power-packed performance of their 2022 hit ‘MAMIII,’ similar to the set they performed on weekend one of the festival.

While performing ‘MAMIII’ alongside Karol G, Becky gave a shoutout to the immigrant community. 

“Let me say it louder for the people in the back. ¡Viva México, Viva Colombia y que vivan nuestros Inmigrantes que queremos muchos (Long live Mexico, long live Colombia, and to all our immigrants we love you so much),” she said. 

The message came at a challenging time when the immigrant community in the US is under immense pressure as the Trump administration continues to enforce stricter immigration crackdown policies.

Coachella faces censorship allegations

As clips of Becky G’s message started making the rounds on social media, some users claimed that Coachella allegedly censored the singer after she shared the message for immigrants. Footage and screengrabs from the YouTube livestream showed the screen briefly cutting from Becky’s performance to color bars.

However, others pointed out that the cut was unintentional and a technical glitch that happened multiple times during the show. “It was a camera glitch, its happened multiple times before and after Becky,” one user pointed out on X (formerly Twitter).

At the time of writing, neither Becky G nor Coachella have addressed the censorship allegations. Therefore, as of now it is being considered as online speculation.

Fans praise Becky G for her message to immigrants

Following the performance, fans of the singer-actress took to social media to praise her for using the stage to uplift the immigrant community. 

"You are a Hero Becky G. Never stop speaking up for the immigrant community," one wrote. 

"Always stand for Becky G," another added.

"Becky g THE GIRL THAT YOU ARE!!" one said.

"Becky G stands on business. ALWAYS," a fourth commented.

Becky G's Coachella guest performance is continuing to generate buzz. On the work front, she is set to collaborate with the K-Pop group AESPA for a new song.
