WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden’s camp thanked Donald Trump for spreading uplifting news about the economy after the former President claimed credit for the good performance of the stock market.

Trump recently took to his handle on Truth Social to claim that the stock market is performing well in anticipation of his hypothetical win in the November 2024 election.

Following the Republican presidential candidate’s claims, Ammar Moussa, spokesperson for Biden’s campaign, thanked Trump while reminding him that Joe Biden is still the President.

In a statement shared with The Hill, Moussa said, “Thank you Donald for lifting up today’s strong economic news, but on this planet, Joe Biden is the president, and is the one whose policies are helping achieve historic GDP growth, a stronger than ever stock market, and real job creation after Trump tanked our economy.”

Moussa not only praised Biden for a well-performing economy but also slammed Trump for ‘tanking’ the American economy.

Earlier, on January 29, Trump claimed on his Truth Social that investors are “projecting” his win and that, in turn, is boosting the economy.

After the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 index reached record highs, Trump shared on his social media, “THIS IS THE TRUMP STOCK MARKET BECAUSE MY POLLS AGAINST BIDEN ARE SO GOOD THAT INVESTORS ARE PROJECTING THAT I WILL WIN, AND THAT WILL DRIVE THE MARKET UP."

He continued, “EVERYTHING ELSE IS TERRIBLE (WATCH THE MIDDLE EAST!), AND RECORD SETTING INFLATION HAS ALREADY TAKEN ITS TOLL. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!

White House spokesman Andrew Bates, while refusing to comment on the election, also slammed Trump saying, “While we do not comment on the 2024 election, we welcome the wide range of ideologically diverse voices who are increasingly conceding that President Biden is building an economy that actually delivers for hardworking families — not just billionaires or executives at multinational corporations.”

Internet praises Joe Biden for economic growth

Donald Trump was trolled by social media users as he claimed the economic growth was in anticipation of his win in the November election.

One of the supporters of President Biden boldly claimed, "That’s Joe Biden’s Stock Market."

Someone else praised Biden and said, "Real test would be to ask him if he would be taking credit for it if it’s tanked? We all know the answer to that. Thanks, Joe Biden, the true responsible policy maker."

"Trump put the economy into recession in Feb 2020," said someone else.

Another social media user said, "So. If we’re using his timeline. Does that mean that his strong economy, prior to the pandemic, was due to the Obama administration?"

A user observed, "It seems the stock market goes up every time he loses a court case! Hope Tump keeps losing! My 401k will thank him!"

"Hmmm do you think if it was crashing he’d be taking credit for that too? lol we all know the answer to that one…," said another user.
