REHOBOTH BEACH, DELAWARE: Former President Joe Biden sparked fresh health concerns after he was spotted with a deep red gash on his head while leaving church in Delaware over Labor Day weekend.

The 82-year-old, appearing frail, greeted well-wishers when the wound was caught on camera, raising speculation and worry about his current condition.

Biden's head wound sparks speculation

Fred Karger, who filmed the clip and later shared it online, told Inside Edition, “I was a little surprised because it’s a noticeable scar.” The footage, which spread quickly across social media, showed Biden trying to conceal the wound with his white hair as he left a service in Rehoboth Beach.

The gash stretched across the front of Biden’s head, appearing raw and recently treated. Observers quickly debated its cause, with some pointing to his history of skin cancer. “It looks fresh, a little hair combed over the scar. It looks to me like someone who had several basal cells, skin cancers removed from his head,” Karger said.

Biden’s spokesperson later confirmed he had undergone Mohs surgery, a procedure used to treat skin cancer by removing thin layers of tissue until only healthy skin remains. The representative did not specify when the surgery was performed, but the wound’s condition suggested it was recent.

Internet prays for Biden as head gash video goes viral

A clip showing Joe Biden with the wound during Labor Day weekend triggered a wave of reactions, with some offering support while others mocked or questioned his condition on Instagram.

One Instagram user wrote, “Kind decent person. God bless him,” and another said, “We miss you President Biden. Hold on to faith and keep strong. 🙏 💕.”

"God bless you President Biden! God, I miss the good night's sleep I got while you were our Commander in chief! 💙🇺🇸💙," another comment read.

Meanwhile, a critic said, “Barely a year ago they were still trying to claim that this man was of sound mind to be president😂”

Someone else added, “Biden doesn’t even know where he is and who those people are.

Another remarked, “Why is no one mentioning the gash in his head? Sad, but doubt he has cancer. Interesting it came in the headlines at the same time as the auto-pen scandal and fraud schemes were coming to light.”

Biden underwent skin cancer surgery in 2023

Joe Biden has long struggled with skin-related health issues. In February 2023, a cancerous lesion was removed from his chest during a routine physical. Tests later confirmed it was basal cell carcinoma, a common but recurring form of skin cancer. The White House medical team at the time described the procedure as successful.

Beyond skin-related concerns, Biden was diagnosed earlier this year with Stage 4 prostate cancer. In May, doctors discovered a “small nodule” on his prostate along with additional cancer cells that had spread to his bones.

The discovery raised questions about how the disease went undetected during earlier White House checkups, with reports suggesting it had been missed by his previous medical team.
