PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA: Philadelphia radio station WURD 96.1 FM fired the host, who disclosed she asked President Joe Biden questions that were given by his team in advance, the WURD Radio's leadership confirmed on Sunday, July 7.

Andrea Lawful-Sanders interviewed the President on Wednesday, July 3, in his first interview after the disastrous debate performance on June 27.

However, she dragged Biden's team into a controversy as she revealed to CNN's 'First of All with Victor Blackwell' on July 5 that they gave eight questions, out of which she used four of them as her only questions to the octogenarian.

The President's campaign reportedly stopped supplying questions to the media in light of Lawful-Sanders' revelation.

WURD Radio CEO says 'pre-determined questions' violated station's practice

WURD Radio's president and CEO Sara Lomax said on Sunday, July 7, that she was not part of the interview's negotiations and signaled Lawful-Sanders' asking pre-determined questions to Biden violated the practice of the independent outlet, the New York Post reported.

"The interview featured pre-determined questions provided by the White House, which violates our practice of remaining an independent media outlet accountable to our listeners. As a result, Ms Lawful-Sanders and WURD Radio have mutually agreed to part ways, effective immediately," Lomax added.

According to its website, WURD stands as Pennsylvania's sole Black-owned and operated talk radio station.

"WURD Radio has cultivated that trust with our audience over our 20-year history. This is something we take very seriously. Agreeing to a pre-determined set of questions jeopardizes that trust," Lomax continued.

Emphasizing the history of Black media's advocacy for the Black community's interests, the radio station's president noted the "practice of de-legitimizing Black voices continues today."

"WURD Radio is not a mouthpiece for the Biden or any other administration," the CEO asserted.

Despite providing the questions beforehand, 81-year-old Biden sometimes faltered during the radio interview. At one instance, he declared his pride in being "the first Black woman to serve with a Black president."

Following Lawful-Sanders' revelation, WMCS host Earl Ingram, who interviewed the President after WURD, also disclosed he, too, was provided with questions in advance, which he used.

Biden's re-election bid has been in jeopardy after he flunked the presidential debate against former president Donald Trump, which sent the Democrats into a panic mode. Concerned over his cognitive ability to run for one more term, many Democrats, as well as donors, came forward urging him to step down.

However, the President remained adamant about continuing and declared in a recent ABC News interview that only "Lord Almighty" could persuade him to drop out.

Joe Biden slammed over WURD Radio firing Andrea Lawful-Sanders

Netizens held Joe Biden responsible for the firing of Andrea Lawful-Sanders after she revealed that her interview with the President was based on pre-determined questions.

"Diabolical work #SleepyJoe," one social media user wrote.

"Dark Brandon only cares about Dark Brandon. His handlers will throw even their staunchest supporters under the bus," another remarked.

"What a disgrace this administration!" one individual said.

"Wow. Nothing like silencing people in the name of Democracy," another added.

"This was a dumb mistake by the @BidenHQ.... you got a woman fired because she met your stupid requirements for an interview with a guy in obvious cognitive decline. Now there's NO reason for her NOT to disclose everything about the interview," one person said.

"Biden’s campaign cheats and then has host fired for revealing the truth. Biden fires those who get in his way of power and money. Biden doesn’t fire anyone for mishandling the Afghanistan withdrawal or any other mistakes his administration has made," another argued.

"This is the only way that Joe Biden and his handlers will allow him to appear and take questions ANYWHERE.. Their admin and its defenders will lie and say it’s unscripted but if you’re falling for that at this point you’re not our best or brightest," one user stated.

"Expose the truth and you’re fired. The hidden administration doesn’t like the truth getting out," another added.
