WASHINGTON, DC: Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wis) expressed a grim prognosis for President Joe Biden's campaign, stating it is "toast" after losing the support from the media.

During his appearance on 'Jesse Watters Primetime' on Fox News, Johnson told host Will Cain, “Democrats have a real problem, any Democrat has a real problem —if you lose the media, and Biden lost the media, overnight, after that debate."

Ron Johnson says Democrats' policies are 'disastrous' to this country

Johnson further noted, “It’s pretty difficult because Democrats can lie, they can enact policies that are disastrous to this country, but as long as the media’s on their side covering up for ‘em, they can survive.

“The minute they lose the media, they really are toast,” he added.

Ron Johnson says it will be difficult to replace if Joe Biden 'wants to stay'

Johnson's comments come in the wake of heightened tensions among Democrats following Joe Biden's lackluster debate performance against Donald Trump on June 27.

During the first live debate in Atlanta, Biden appeared to halt and stumble throughout his time on stage, sparking concerns over his mental fitness and also led to some members of the Democratic Party questioning his capability to run for president for another term.

In his Fox News appearance, Johnson said Biden "has the nomination, he has the votes."

“He’s gonna be difficult to, again, replace, if he wants to stay in there," he added.

The White House and Biden allies have also been firm in their stance that Biden will continue his reelection campaign.

In a recent fundraising email, Biden affirmed that nobody is “is pushing” him “out.”

“I’m the Democratic Party’s nominee. No one is pushing me out. I’m not leaving, I’m in this race to the end, and WE are going to win this election," read the fundraising mail.

"If that’s all you need to hear, pitch in a few bucks to help [Vice President Harris] and me defeat Donald Trump in November," he added, according to The Hill.
