WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden tried to play it safe when asked on Monday, April 22, whether he denounced the antisemitic demonstrations taking place on college campuses and if he had a message for the demonstrators, as per Daily Mail.

Notably, Biden was leaving an Earth Day gathering in Prince William Forest Park in Triangle, Virginia, where he had appeared with three progressive senators and representatives: Ed Markey, Bernie Sanders, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

As the opening act for Biden, AOC praised the college protests but remained silent on antisemitic remarks made to Jewish students, particularly at Columbia University in New York.

However, Biden said, "I condemn the antisemitic protests. That's why I've set up a program to deal with that. I also condemn those who don't understand what's going on with the Palestinians."

Notably, A prominent Jewish group on Columbia's campus stated in a social media post on Sunday, April 21, that demonstrators are directing Jewish students to 'go back to Poland' and 'stop killing children'.

Moreover, Jewish students were advised to remain home for their safety by the university rabbi on Monday morning, when troubled Columbia President Nemat 'Minouche' Shafik declared that courses would be conducted online.

In response to a question regarding Shafik's resignation, Biden said, "I’ll have to find out more about it."

Robert Kraft, a multibillionaire and former student, declared on Monday that he would no longer be providing financial assistance to the institution due to the anti-Israel protests.

The New England Patriots' owner said, "The school I love so much – the one that welcomed me and provided me with so much opportunity – is no longer an institution I recognize. I am deeply saddened at the virulent hate that continues to grow on campus and throughout our country."

Notably, over 100 students were detained last Wednesday and Thursday of last week for taking part in sit-ins; but, by Friday, April 19, the students had gone back to their 'Gaza solidarity camp'. The daughter of Squad member Rep Ilhan Omar was among those detained and subsequently suspended from the university.

Internet slams President Biden for his statement and trying to play safe

A user wrote on X, "What a bumbling senile old man", while another added, "He just talked out of both sides of his mouth. Biden condemns those who don’t understand what is going on in Palestine? WHAT? People understand that Hamas are usung precious babies, women and children as human shields."

A person also wrote, "What program has he set up to deal with the antisemitic protests, cause whatever it is, it appears to have failed miserably", whereas one mentioned, "I need to take some Tylenol after listening to that."

A person also stated, "There is no way Biden and Trump are close in the polls", while one wrote, "Surprised the Professional Sleepwalker-in-chief didn't just say 'DON'T'."
