LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Comedian Bill Maher responded to the disparagers during a CNN interview on Sunday, May 26, after they claimed that the 68-year-old has changed. He implied that it was not him but the left that had changed and he would not hesitate to call that out.

"I haven’t turned. Yes, people have said to me, ‘You make fun of the left more than you used to,’ and guilty, I have, because the left has changed," Maher said per Fox News, before arguing that the right has also undergone dramatic change and for even worse.

Bill Maher on things that have changed on the left

The comedian, while on a media tour to promote his new book, 'What This Comedian Said Will Shock You', shared with CNN host Fareed Zakaria several things he thought had changed on the left.

"There are things that have to do with, you know, gender and race and free speech, and just ideas about you can be healthy at any weight and gender is always a social construct and maybe we should give communism another try and maybe we should get rid of capitalism and the Border Patrol, and let’s tear down statues of Lincoln and get rid of the police. Just, you know — no. It’s not that I’ve gotten old, it’s that your ideas are stupid, OK?" Maher said.

"Common sense is common sense," added Zakaria who is another recent skeptic of some cherished progressive talking points on the left.

Bill Maher termed Donald Trump a 'sociopath'

Maher's growing contempt for the far-left is not the sole reason why he has developed a fondness for the Republicans. According to him, Donald Trump, the presumed GOP nominee, "only thinks elections count when we win." Besides, he has also harshly spoken against the Republican Party for being anti-democratic and jeopardizing the country's future.

Sunny Hostin says Bill Maher has 'changed'

In a recent interview, 'The View' co-host Sunny Hostin candidly told Maher that he has "changed" after he admitted to the show that he considers himself an "old school liberal." He also expressed his disquiet on young men's inability to interact and converse with women.

"I think this is going to be a very big problem. I think young men thought it was a great thing when Tinder came along. Oh, my gosh, look, I don't even have to talk to a girl. It's all right here on my phone. I can just scroll through, like it's a menu, like I'm ordering from Grubhub. But the truth is that Tinder is mostly men. You know, it's like two-thirds of men who were on the site. So that's not good odds if you're a man," Maher said.

The comedian argued that women haven't changed much and said they're "communicative creatures." "You have to talk to them," he added.

"And I think men are losing that ability. I think they, you know, they just think they can send a text of an eggplant emoji and write, what's up?" he continued. "You have to court. Yes, you have to do some courting. Women have not changed in that regard."

Bill Maher's recent political comment sparks mixed response

Netizens gave mixed responses after the comedian's latest CNN interview. One X user opined, "Bill has always been a contrarian," while another agreed, "Good he is standing his ground. He’s absolutely correct. I was going to say 'right' but well…not quite yet."

"I’m glad someone with a voice like Maher says the truth. Even if only one left winger gets it, his words are worth it," added one user and another wrote, "Bill Your Woke. Once Woke always Woke. They won't let you leave."

One user, however, slammed Maher, "He hasn't changed, he has always been arrogant and supercilious."
