LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Bill Maher aimed at liberal critics who targeted Cheryl Hines, the wife of Robert F Kennedy Jr after the former independent presidential candidate endorsed Donald Trump.

On a recent episode of 'Real Time', Maher discussed how Hines, known for her role on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm', was slammed online for standing by her husband despite her disagreement with his decision.

Cheryl Hines faced backlash for supporting Robert F Kennedy Jr’s decision to support Donald Trump

During the show, Bill Maher noted that Cheryl Hines’s co-star, Larry David, once described her as someone in Hollywood with no enemies.

"Well, now she does," Maher remarked, "because she didn’t throw her husband under the bus when her husband made a decision about something, which she’s made plain she disagrees with."

"But that didn’t satisfy the obnoxious posers on the aforementioned far left," Maher added.

Kennedy recently suspended his independent presidential campaign and publicly supported Trump, a move that sparked widespread controversy.

The former independent candidate acknowledged that his wife was not supportive of his decision, telling TMZ, "She went along with it because she loves me and she wanted to be supportive of me, but it was not something that she ever encouraged, I would say."

Cheryl Hines responds to critics after Robert F Kennedy Jr’s Donald Trump endorsement

Following Robert F Kennedy Jr’s endorsement of Donald Trump, Cheryl Hines shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) expressing her gratitude towards Kennedy’s campaign team, noted Fox News.

"The decision has been made to suspend my husband’s, Robert Kennedy Jr’s, presidency, and I’d like to extend a sincere, deeply heartfelt thank you to every person who has worked so tirelessly and lovingly on his campaign," she wrote in part.

Despite Hines’ distance from the political decision, Maher pointed out that “thousands tweet-screamed at Cheryl things like, ‘how do you live with yourself?’ [and] ‘do better,’ ‘I can’t even enjoy the episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm with you in them anymore,’” also sarcastically adding, “Uh, yeah, that’s a character on TV, but okay.”

Bill Maher criticizes actor Bradley Whitford's harsh comments against Cheryl Hines

One of the most vocal critics of Cheryl Hines was actor Bradley Whitford, who condemned her on X for staying silent about her husband’s decision.

In his post, Whitford accused her of remaining quiet while her "lunatic" husband supported Trump.

"Hey @CherylHines, way to stay silent while your lunatic husband throws his support behind the adjudicated rapist who brags about stripping women of their fundamental rights," Whitford wrote, adding, "Gutsy. Great example for the kids. Profile in courage."

Maher reacted sharply to Whitford’s remarks, criticizing him for publicly attacking Hines instead of understanding her situation.

“You know what I think is not gutsy?” Maher said. “Mansplaining to a woman, but of course not to her face, that she should sacrifice her marriage all so you could read something on Twitter that met with your approval.”

Bill Maher says far leftists exhibit new 'ugliness'

Bill Maher concluded by criticizing the far-left’s behavior, saying, "You want to know why I have a bug up my a** about the left more than I used to? It’s s*** like this. There’s an ugliness they never used to have."

He added, "The liberals I grew up respecting – none of them are like this. Going after the wife – Even the mafia doesn’t do that!"

Maher further labeled Whitford and others as "liberals in theory," calling them hypocrites.

He pointed out, “In theory, they hate bullying. Terrible. In practice, their attitude is, ‘It’s not bullying when I stick your head in the toilet.’”
