LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Bill Maher, the host of 'Real Time', criticized Democrats for their election strategy, highlighting their focus on attacking former President Donald Trump.

During a panel discussion, Maher expressed his frustration over the lack of a competitive GOP primary, as Trump was leading comfortably against his remaining competitor, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley.

Complaining about the absence of an audition phase in the election process, Maher humorously remarked, "We don't even get the audition phase of our reality show we call an election… I feel like I'm snubbed as a citizen."

Maher sounds alarm over Biden's declining support

Bill Maher raised concerns about what he identified as President Biden's "two liabilities", as indicated by recent polling showing a decline in support among "Hispanics" and "people under 35".

"Let's take the first one. That's the issue of immigration, or at least it seems that's what the Democrats think it is. And yet they're the party that keeps losing Hispanics to the party of razor wire now," Maher stated, alluding to the ongoing legal battle between Texas Governor Greg Abbott and the Biden administration over the placement of razor wire on the southern border as part of border security measures.

"I also think it's not a great strategy to run a Democratic campaign based on ‘How can they like this guy?!’ Because some people just do… Maybe it's better to look at why he is winning among the people who ‘are rapists. And who do drugs,'" Maher continued, playfully mimicking Trump. "Maybe there's a fly in the ointment there."

The HBO host then addressed Biden's struggle to gain support from young voters, attributing it to the "wedge issue" arising from the Democrats' divisions over the Israel-Hamas war.

"The kids love Hamas," Maher sarcastically remarked, before expressing criticism against those he referred to as "Oct 7 deniers" — individuals who reject acknowledging the atrocities committed by the terrorist group against Israeli civilians.

Polls show Trump's lead over Biden

Maher's remarks follow the recent polling data indicating that Trump has garnered a six-point lead over Biden.

Trump's lead in the polls comes amid a series of surveys where both candidates have received relatively low approval ratings, and voters have expressed dissatisfaction with the likely nominees.

In the latest Reuters/Ipsos poll of 1,250 adults, Trump holds a lead over Biden by 40 to 34 percentage points.

The polling data reflects a dynamic political landscape with shifting public sentiments toward the candidates.

The polling data indicates a substantial portion of respondents either remain undecided or plan to vote for someone else, introducing a potential wild card in the race. Notably, Trump's lead persists even when considering third-party candidates.

These developments occurred after Biden focused on criticizing Trump over abortion rights in a recent speech in Virginia.

In response, Trump continued to refer to Biden as 'crooked,' maintaining a consistent line of attack even during his New Hampshire victory speech, where he spent much of the time criticizing his Republican rival Nikki Haley.
