NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Billionaire investor Bill Ackman recently went on television and matter-of-factly called for President Joe Biden to abandon plans of seeking reelection in 2024.

During an appearance on CNBC that quickly went viral, the hedge fund manager cited the POTUS' advanced age and perceived fragility on the world stage as reasons Democrats should urge the 82-year-old to step aside, as reported by Fox Business.

Ackman's blunt remarks seemed to have echoed the sentiments of several voters as he quickly garnered cheers across social media.

In an appearance on CNBC’s 'Squawk Box', Ackman stated he remains ideologically moderate and would consider supporting candidates from either party, but pulled no punches when it came to his view that Biden seems simply too old to continue in office

He stated plainly that at over 80 years old, the POTUS is "past his prime" and that his perceived weakness has contributed to global instability.

"I think it’s really important that Biden steps aside," noted Ackman, adding, "Just on the age, past his prime issue, I think a good part of the reason why we have what's going on in the world geopolitically is he's perceived as a weak president. And he will be even weaker."

The billionaire's comments come as the president continues to suffer from low approval ratings, and doubts emerge within his party about his viability as a 2024 candidate. According to recent polls, a majority of voters believe Biden lacks the mental sharpness required for the presidency.

Ackman, known for wading into political issues, primarily appeared on CNBC to discuss his role in the recent turmoil over antisemitism allegations at Harvard University. Notably, he has a history of using his position as a billionaire investor to push for political and social change.

He thrust himself into debates over rising antisemitism after calling out Harvard University for failing to firmly condemn antisemitic statements made by student groups regarding Israel.

His criticisms of Harvard's diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies led to further scrutiny of Harvard President Claudine Gay, who later resigned amid rising plagiarism claims.

Ackman’s remarks about President Biden received overwhelmingly positive feedback, with netizens praising him for giving voice to concerns shared by many.

One declared, "We need much more of this," while another chimed in, "Like this guy more every day."

A person stated, "Spot on," and someone else noted, "Honestly, I agreed with everything he said here."

An individual complimented, "Bill Ackman acting as a hero lately. Bravo!" "The majority of people feel this way," expressed a user.

One more wrote, "He speaks for a lot of the country. Most people cannot recognize what either party has become. And despite the support for the two main candidates in a few sectors, the growing demands for change will only get louder."
