KEOKUK, IOWA: Over the last few days, former President Donald Trump and his supporters like Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene have spent their time in rallying in Iowa ahead of the Iowa caucuses as the presidential election year begins.

In one of the many statements made by Greene, she shared a certain clip on X, formerly known as Twitter, where she claimed that Washington has an “addiction” to “foreign wars.” After Greene elaborated more on the same, the internet was not on the same page as her as she faced backlash on the social media platform.

Marjorie Taylor Greene takes a hit at DC politicians

On X, Marjorie Taylor Greene wrote, “Washington has a sick addiction: foreign wars. America’s border doesn’t matter to DC politicians and the military industrial complex, just everyone else’s border.”

She added, “Well if Donald Trump was still president, conflicts like the war in Ukraine wouldn’t even be happening. We’d have world peace again!”

In the clip shared by Greene, she was on stage in Iowa and spoke to her audience. The congresswoman said, “Now Washington DC has an addiction…now it’s not drugs, and women, and men…they might have some of those addictions too.”

She continued, “They have an addiction to war. Washington has a sick addiction. Foreign wars. Now, they don’t care about defending our border, we’ll talk about that in a few minutes, no no no…our border doesn’t matter to them. Everyone else’s border matters.”

“No it’s true, and I have not voted to fund a single penny to the Ukraine war…I didn’t do it. And let’s be real, there would not be a Ukraine war if President Trump was in the White House,” said Greene.

Internet mocks Marjorie Taylor Greene on X

After Marjorie Taylor Greene shared a glimpse of her remarks made in Iowa, primarily in support of Donald Trump, the internet was quick to respond.

One user said, “Your view of the political atmosphere is sometimes a challenge to understand when on earth,” and another wrote, “We never had World Peace, so why are you lying again?"

"WE ARE SICK OF YOUR AND TRUMPS LIES," expressed one frustrated user. Another mocked, "Didn’t realize you could see into future! Amazing quality."

Greene continued to face backlash on the social media platform as one person also wrote, "And you’re just sick," and another snarkily asked, "Like your addiction to lying?"
