NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: Former Arkansas State college football star who has worked as an analyst on college football staff and as an NFL scout has been apprehended for allegedly murdering his pregnant girlfriend. Blaise Taylor, 27, from Utah was arrested on Thursday night, March 14, for poisoning his girlfriend and her unborn child in the city of Nashville, Tennessee.

The United States Marshals served an indictment from Nashville police which states Taylor faces two counts of first-degree murder. According to the indictment, the suspect poisoned Jade Benning in February 2023 who later died on March 6 on her 25th birthday, ESPN reports.

Unfortunately, the victim's five-month-old fetus died on February 27 which was believed to be the child of Taylor as well.

Blaise Taylor was a staff member of the Tennessee Titans at the time of his arrest

At the time of his arrest, Blaise Taylor was a staff member of the Tennessee Titans where he rose in the pro-scouting department. He then joined Utah State as a senior defensive analyst in 2023 and had been hired for a similar role at Texas A&M.

Trooper Taylor, Blaise's father, had been recently hired to the Texas A&M coaching staff as a running backs coach and associate head coach under new head coach Mike Elko. Blaise Taylor was slated to join his father in this new job but his career is now probably over, especially if he is convicted guilty of the crime.

During his college years, Taylor was a four-year starter at Arkansas State where Trooper coached defensive backs at the time. Blaise served as captain and got his first-team All-Sun Belt honors as a defensive back and a punt returner.
