Body language expert claims Melania Trump’s V-Day move suggests she has ‘dropped her power posturing’

The expert said that Melania Trump's posture in the Valentine's Day photo suggests 'an emphatic social signal of happiness'

WASHINGTON, DC: First Lady Melania Trump opted for an unusual color on Valentine's Day this year as she was seen in white instead of red. Now as per a body language expert, this means something.

The former model's photo was shared on Instagram that showed her posing with her husband, President Donald Trump, and two others. She was tagged in the social media share alongwith Trump, US ambassador to Belgium, Bill White, Ashlee Clarke, CEO of Empower Media, and commentator Alexis Wilkins.

Commenting on her outfit choice, Judi James told the Irish Star, “Melania appears to have dropped her recent trait of power posturing here, swapping it for a softer, more youthful look, with the theme of demure white lace and the way her hair is swept to fall down one shoulder only, giving a rather romantic bridal look to her Valentine styling.”

Melania Trump seems to have stepped back from 'power-sharing'

Judi James further said that Melania Trump's “body language also suggests she has stepped down from her higher status profile here, too", unlike her earlier looks.

“Since Trump's inauguration, Melania has adopted a look that suggests a form of power-sharing with her husband. Her official portrait made her look like a business CEO, and she has tended to walk beside her husband, clad in tailored, darker colors that mirror his own tailored suits,” James mentioned.

She also, however, noted that the shift hints that Melania is happy.

James added, “Here, though, she is back to standing slightly behind her husband, allowing him to be the center of attention. Her smile matches his though. Her cheeks are rounded, her eyes narrowed and her mouth is widened in an emphatic social signal of happiness.”

Melania Trump's stylist says first lady ‘gravitates toward strong tailoring’

This came after earlier this month Melania Trump's stylist and designer Herve Pierre explained to Hello! Magazine why the 54-year-old is a style icon.

Pierre said, “She is always impeccably dressed, even when not in public: a pair of skinny pants and a crisp white shirt is usually her signature look.”

“She likes tailored suits and sharp lines. She will not start wearing ruffles and floral prints just because she is starting a new chapter. She gravitates toward strong tailoring, sleek looks and perfect cuts with no fuss,” he added.

The stylist also noted that though Melania’s style “will evolve". "The core of her look will remain in the same vein. She was always confident in her choices — I am just helping her," said Pierre.

“Her style has been consistent for years; there is no reason why she would change it,” Pierre asserted.
