WASHINGTON, DC: First Lady Melania Trump is not ready for her life to be defined by her role in the White House, People reported on Friday, February 7.

A longtime source told the publication that the 54-year-old former model does not care much about her political image. The same was suggested by Melania herself in an interview with 'Fox & Friends' ahead of Donald Trump's presidential inauguration last month.

Melania had stated that she wished to split her time between Washington DC, New York, and Palm Beach over the next four years.

"Maybe some people, they see me as just the wife of the president," she said. "But I’m standing on my own two feet, independent. I have my own thoughts, I have my own yes and no. I don’t always agree what my husband is saying or doing, and that’s okay."

Insider reveals Melania Trump's outlook in her second term as FLOTUS

On the subject of Melania Trump's role in her second term as FLOTUS, the source told People, "She doesn’t believe she has obligations in the political world. But she does care about children and their well-being. Anything she may do in this administration will happen if she has the time and interest to pursue it."

They went on to compare her with Trump's previous wives, Ivana Trump and Marla Maples, saying, "Melania is smart like Ivana but while Ivana collaborated with Donald on work projects, Melania is more traditional in the Marla way and remains more under the radar when possible."

However, much unlike them, Melania is the only one who became embroiled in politics as a result of being linked with Trump.

The source observed that Melania preferred to operate "in her own small circle of family members and one or two close friends", adding that "politics is not her world" and she “couldn't care less how she looks politically".

"You can learn more about Melania by what she doesn’t do or say over the next four years," they continued. “Just because she is quiet in a crowd doesn’t mean she is aloof, not listening, or necessarily disinterested. Her mind is filled with what she does every day, her own life, and what interests her.”

“Donald does his thing, and she does hers. She tells it like it is when they talk and he listens. Does he do what she says? Not necessarily, but it has happened," the source added.

Internet trolls Melania Trump over disinterest in political obligations

Netizens reacting to the news on the social media platform Facebook trolled First Lady Melania Trump over the revelation that she “couldn't care less how she looks politically". The following comments demonstrate their takes.

"I don’t disagree with her. After all, she is just a simple, average immigrant scared to be out in public for fear of deportation," wrote a person.

"First Ladies usually have initiatives towards children, since tweetle dumb & tweetle dumber care nothing about the good of others, neither does she," shared another.

"She didn’t do anything the first time around so doesn’t surprise me!" quipped a third.

"Honestly I will be fine without having to hear her speak or seeing her at all these next 4 years," jibed another.

"She is about as shallow as you can be," stated one user.

"She’s not doing us any favors while she’s there might as well stay away!" expressed yet another.
