LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Chrissy Teigen has come out in support of pop star Selena Gomez as the latter is being targeted by President Donald Trump's administration for her stance opposing the recent immigration raids, TMZ reported on Tuesday, February 4.

On January 27, Gomez uploaded a tearful video on social media reacting to the arrests made by Immigration and Customs Enforcement that week.

"All my people are getting attacked … the children. I don’t understand. I’m so sorry. I wish I could do something, but I can’t. I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything, I promise," she stated in the since-deleted post.

Backlash faced by Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez attracted the wrath of the conservatives as a result of the post. Donald Trump's new Border Czar, Tom Homan, responded by saying, "We’re gonna do this job, and we’re gonna enforce the laws of this country. If they don’t like it, then go to Congress and change the law," as per NME.

The official account of the White House on the social media platform X also called out Gomez in a video post, where several women slammed the celebrity claiming, "You don’t know who you’re crying for.”

"I love her (Gomez). Empathy should never be frowned upon or made fun of, and the fact that the White House has enough time to even make a statement or a video about it is f**king preposterous and disgusting and lame and loser behavior," the author-model firmly stated.

Teigen is far from the only celebrity to come out in support of Gomez. Right after Gomez had to delete her tweets in the face of bullying, hip-hop artist Flavor Flav wrote on X, "Team Selena Gomez. Again. That woman is always so brave to share her truth,,, and so many are quick to bully her."

Internet agrees with Chrissy Teigen but refuses to side with her

Netizens reacting to the news on the social networking platform Reddit defend Selena Gomez along with Chrissy Teigen but want nothing to do with Teigen herself. The following comments demonstrate their takes.

"That’s an awful thing to do to Selena. I’m glad to hear Chrissy Teigen stood up for her," wrote a person.

"She can be completely right and still a terrible person," shared another.

"She’s right but is still a garbage human being," noted someone else.

"Even if I agree with her I wish Chrissy Teigan would stfu forever," stated a user.

"Teigan has no room to talk," expressed another.
