Body language expert decodes Trump’s ‘alpha male’ behavior in fiery Oval Office exchange with Zelensky

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: In a political spectacle unlike any seen before in the historic Oval Office, President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky engaged in a heated verbal clash, with Vice President JD Vance also chiming in.
Renowned body language expert Judi James dissected the confrontation that was marked by raised voices, defiant gestures, and starkly opposing views, and unfolded as a political drama at the highest level.

Body language expert Judi James analyzes Donald Trump's 'alpha male' behavior
Judi James revealed that the encounter portrayed Donald Trump as the "alpha male" who was in a state of "aggressive arousal" throughout the exchange, as per The Express Tribune.
She observed that his body language was a calculated display of dominance, designed to seize control of the conversation.

“Trump finally stepped in, taking the battle-baton from JD with a ‘No no no!’ and a raising of both hands to stop the fight,” James noted, emphasizing his commanding presence and unwavering posture.
His signature move, a raised index finger, usually served as the ultimate authority symbol, but even this was not enough to quell the verbal storm between him and Zelensky.

As the confrontation intensified, Trump’s frustration boiled over.
“Trump shouted that Zelensky was ‘gambling with WW3.’ His face became red with his state of aggressive arousal, and he frowned in what looked like disbelief," said James.
Trump's every expression reflected the gravity of the moment, a stark warning wrapped in his trademark forcefulness, according to the expert.

Zelensky, however, was no passive participant. He matched Trump’s energy with fervor, presenting photographs of his war-torn country and standing his ground.
James characterized Zelensky’s approach as one of “relentless energy,” refusing to be overshadowed or intimidated.
His resilience sent a clear message: he was not willing to be sidelined in the discussion about Ukraine’s future.
Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky looked like 'actors leaving the stage' after clash
Meanwhile, JD Vance played the role of Donald Trump's verbal wingman, engaging Volodymyr Zelensky in sharp exchanges.
James likened his role to “the grain of sand that irritates the oyster to produce the pearl".
"It would be appropriate for a wingman to get into a verbal conflict but not the alpha, who cannot be replaced or be seen losing," she explained.
As the meeting drew to a close, both leaders signaled their own forms of resolution, Trump with a wink, suggesting he had regained control, while Zelensky flashed a thumbs-up, signaling his own defiant stance.
“The ending looked almost like actors leaving the stage,” James remarked, capturing the theatrical nature of the moment.
Trump later took to Truth Social to assert his viewpoint. “We had a very meaningful meeting in the White House today. Much was learned that could never be understood without conversation under such fire and pressure," he wrote.
"It’s amazing what comes out through emotion, and I have determined that President Zelenskyy is not ready for Peace if America is involved, because he feels our involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations. I don’t want advantage, I want PEACE. He disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for Peace,” he added.
"He disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for Peace," Trump concluded.
Zelensky, unwavering in his defiance, doubled down in an interview with Fox News’ Bret Baier.
“I think that we have to be very open and very honest. And I’m not sure that we did something bad," he said.
“We are in this war, in this battle for freedom for our lives,” Zelensky stated. “I want President Trump to be more on our side," the Ukrainian president added.
