WASHINGTON, DC: An expert has claimed that Melania Trump’s body language showed “signs of inner tension” as she and President Donald Trump made an appearance before a crowd for the annual White House Fourth of July picnic.

The first lady and the president reportedly shared two long silences between them before Trump addressed the attendees.

The first uncomfortable pause happened after the national anthem, where Trump was seen awkwardly staring into the crowd.

Expert claims Melania and Donald Trump ‘struggled’ while appearing in front of people

Judi James interpreted the chemistry between the two as she told the Irish Star that Melania and Trump appeared to “struggle to style out the rather awkward-looking pause.”

She further mentioned, “Trump stands to attention, chin set firm and apparently acting oblivious to the delay apart from muttering things to his wife now and again. Melania performs a more human-looking response, looking up at the skies expectantly and moving to look less rigid.”

“Her head turns, her mouth champs very slightly to relax her facial features and expression and at one point she turns to look at Trump with what looks like a good-humored smile,” James added.

Body language expert spots signs of tension in Melania Trump's curled fists and fingertip gestures

The expert then explained that it was the moment when “we get to see her hands that we can spot what looks like some signs of inner tension. They seem to curl into fists, or her fingertips appear to touch together in what looks like awkwardness or mild impatience.”

“Once the announcements start though we can see the return of her graceful FLOTUS smile,” she claimed.

Meanwhile, during the celebration, Trump held his “Big Beautiful Bill” signing, while calling it “the greatest victory yet”.

Trump calls Big Beautiful Bill ‘the most popular bill’

“It's the most popular bill ever signed in the history of our country,” the 74-year-old claimed.

Trump also stated, “What we've done is put everything into one bill. I liked it because we had so much in there that no matter who you are, there was something in that bill that would make your congressman or your senator or your congresswoman, much more importantly, raise their hand and support it.”

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt called the legislation "an encapsulation of all of the policies that the president campaigned on and the American people voted on.”

Besides on July 3, during a speech at the America250 kickoff event at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, Trump shared that “there could be no better birthday present for America than the phenomenal victory we achieved just hours ago when Congress passed the One Big Beautiful Bill to Make America Great Again.”
