KISSIMMEE, FLORIDA: A Florida mother was arrested at Orlando International Airport after allegedly leaving her four children home alone for several days while traveling to Las Vegas.
Irene Miller, 50, is facing four counts of child neglect after deputies found her children, ages 9, 11, 12 and 14, without adult supervision on Wednesday, October 21.
The case came to light after one of the children called 911 to report that her 9-year-old brother had been struck in the head by a falling dumbbell at their home on Parkway Boulevard.
The Osceola County Sheriff's Office later released bodycam footage showing Miller being taken into custody after she landed in Florida on Friday, October 23.

Florida mother arrested after son suffers head injury
Deputies responded to the home after receiving the emergency call from one of the children. When they arrived, they found all four siblings without an adult present.
Fire rescue personnel took the 9-year-old boy to a hospital for treatment. He was later treated and discharged, according to the sheriff's office.
Investigators then contacted the children's mother, who told deputies over the phone that she was working in Las Vegas and planned to return on Friday.
However, authorities determined that Miller had left for the trip on October 18, five days before her scheduled return.
The incident raised concerns about how the children were being supervised while their mother was away. Miller later returned to Florida, where detectives were waiting for her at Orlando International Airport.

Babysitter allegedly leaves four children without overnight care
According to the sheriff's office, Miller told deputies that a babysitter traveled from Tampa each morning to help the children get ready for school and check on them in the afternoon.
However, the babysitter did not stay at the house overnight.
As a result, the children were without adult supervision when deputies arrived following the 911 call.
Authorities contacted the children's father, who took all four children to his residence after the incident.
Miller, 50, was arrested when she landed in Florida on Friday. She was charged with four counts of child neglect without great bodily harm and booked into the Orange County Jail.
The sheriff's office released bodycam footage showing Miller being taken into custody after getting off the plane at Orlando International Airport.
Sheriff warns parents over child neglect cases
The Osceola County Sheriff's Office said it would take cases involving the alleged neglect of children seriously. “The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office will not tolerate child neglect.
These cases will be investigated, and charges will be brought against the parents who are not properly supervising or caring for their children,” Sheriff Chris Blackmon said.
