Additional details concerning the progress of the investigation have emerged.

What did police report say?

Following the woman's reported disappearance, the Duluth Police Department reached out to authorities in North Myrtle Beach.

Law enforcement officials suspect that Kristin Laymon and Bornold Eberhart engaged in a dispute, resulting in her tragic demise.

Allegedly, Eberhart then transported her body back to Dekalb County in the trunk of a vehicle.

On March 3, detectives secured an arrest warrant, leading to Eberhart's apprehension by the SWAT team of the Dekalb County Police Department on March 8.

The North Miami Beach Police Department (NMBPD) has stated that they are currently awaiting confirmation from the Dekalb County Medical Examiner to definitively identify her.

However, they possess sufficient evidence not only to believe that it is Laymon but also to charge Eberhart with murder as per 11Alive.

Numerous agencies have collaborated on this case, including the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the DeKalb County Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Newton County Sheriff's Department, SLED, GEMA Body Recovery Team K-9s, the South Carolina Highway Patrol, and the Horry County Police Department.
