PENNSYLVANIA, UNITED STATES: According to the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office, a 68-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death in a garage at a Pennsylvania home by an 18-year-old man who is currently in jail.

Brian Deante Gray faces a charge of criminal homicide. Around 6:30 am, the Manheim Township Police Department received a call about an unspecified issue from a residence in the 1000 block of North Duke Street.

Michael Pfender, 68, found dead in detached garage

The caller asserted that there was an incident inside the house but did not provide further details.

Prosecutors revealed that a witness informed the police, saying, "My son killed my roommate," upon their arrival at the residence.

The witness directed officers to the detached garage, where they found a man later identified as Michael Pfender, 68, with apparent head and facial injuries, and he was not breathing, as reported by Law&Crime.

Another witness informed officers that Pfender resided in the garage where he was found deceased. They reported to the police that earlier in the evening, Gray and Pfender were part of a group of people hanging out in the garage.

When Pfender said something Gray perceived as "disrespectful," Gray became agitated. Witnesses, however, asserted that they thought the situation had been resolved, and everyone had left the house.

Brian Deante Gray admitted to killing Mike Pfender

At around four in the morning, as one of the roommates was playing video games in their room, Gray knocked on the door and informed them that Pfender wasn't breathing, as reported by Penn Live, citing an arrest affidavit with probable cause.

Gray purportedly confessed to another roommate, saying, "I killed Mike." The affidavit states that following this admission, Gray entertained "farfetched ideas," such as attempting to dispose of Pfender's body, but the roommates opted to call 911.

The Lancaster County Coroner's Office stated that the cause of death was multiple traumatic injuries, and the manner of death was ruled a homicide, as per the prosecution. Authorities also disclosed that Pfender had a defensive wound on his right hand.

On Monday morning, Gray surrendered at the Lancaster City police station. He is currently held without access to bond at the Lancaster County Prison, and his next court appearance is scheduled for December 18.
