Britney Spears reveals ‘embarrassing’ Botox mishap, says procedure left her with a droopy eye
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears is opening up about a troubling beauty experience, warning her followers to “be careful with your bodies” after claiming a recent Botox procedure left her with a droopy left eye and calling the experience embarrassing.
Previously, Spears shared an emotional confession about motherhood and her relationship with her sons. She also opened up about her DUI arrest, including her parents’ alleged actions and 13-year conservatorship.
Britney Spears details her Botox experience and family struggles
Spears took to Instagram Friday, August 7, to warn her followers about Botox, claiming a doctor “put so much Botox in this left eye that it drooped down like that.” She pressed her fingers against her left eye to demonstrate how it looked and revealed that the issue lasted for about “four weeks.”
The Grammy winner said her eye was “just now starting to raise up and be normal again,” calling the experience “so embarrassing.” She continued, “Girls, you have to be careful if you do Botox,” adding that doctors “can really mess your eyes up.”
Spears concluded her warning by telling followers, “Be careful with these people. They try to change, like, your face and try things.” She added, “Be careful with your bodies, because it’s yours and you own it. So, that’s it.”
She captioned the post, “You can’t trust anyone!!!” The beauty fail came shortly after she wrote that she felt she had “failed as a mother” because one of her sons, either Sean Preston or Jayden James, told her he does not believe in God.
Spears wrote that she believes there is “a Holy Spirit that sits high in the kingdom of heaven,” adding, “I’ve been there [and] I’ve felt it.” She also recalled claiming that her estranged father, Jamie Spears, and mother, Lynne Spears, “secretly” took her sons to the beach without her.
Spears wrote that she “felt demoralized,” went to her knees and cried for two months, while mourning that she “never got to be me” after being “brainwashed into an ignorant system where every goddamn person took advantage of me.”
Britney Spears’ sons support her following DUI case and rehab
Spears appeared to be referring to her 13-year conservatorship, which was terminated by a judge in November 2021. Since gaining her freedom, she has displayed erratic behavior on social media, including videos of herself dancing with knives.
She was arrested for a DUI in March and checked herself into rehab the following month. Her attorney later appeared on her behalf in Ventura County Superior Court, where Spears accepted a “wet reckless” offer stemming from her March 4 DUI arrest.
The reduced charge involves reckless driving involving illicit substances and is commonly extended in cases involving first-time offenders, low blood levels and no crash or injuries.
Her lawyer entered a guilty plea to the lesser charge, resolving the case at arraignment. Spears received one year of informal probation and must complete a three-month rehab school totaling 30 hours.
Attorney Michael Goldstein said Spears “has accepted responsibility for her conduct” and had taken “significant steps to implement positive change.” He also said she appreciated the Ventura County District Attorney’s discretion and was grateful for the support she received.
Her sons have reportedly played an important role in her recovery. A source close to Spears said Sean and Jayden have been a rock for their mother after her DUI arrest, adding that their return to her life created “a great opportunity.”
