The programme, hosted by the History Channel in partnership with Comcast, traditionally features former commanders-in-chief.
The interviews, recorded separately, will air in full on Tuesday, with excerpts already shared with viewers.
Reflections on leadership and the presidency
During the conversations, the former presidents spoke about what inspired them to seek the Oval Office and reflected on defining moments from their time in power.
The discussions offered insight into the motivations and challenges that shaped their presidencies.
Each leader used the platform to deliver a message to Americans ahead of the July 4 milestone marking 250 years of independence.
Bill Clinton emphasised resilience, urging citizens not to lose faith in the nation’s democratic system. “Don’t give up on America,” he said, noting its status as the longest-lasting freely elected government in history.
Joe Biden highlighted the country’s founding principles, stressing belief in equality and opportunity. He argued that unity remains stronger than perceived divisions.
Looking ahead to the next 250 years
Barack Obama underscored civic responsibility and mutual respect as essential to sustaining democracy.
He expressed confidence that adherence to constitutional values and peaceful engagement could ensure another successful chapter in the nation’s history.
George W Bush, meanwhile, encouraged Americans to engage actively in civic life. He urged citizens to study history, participate in democratic processes and foster a sense of community and empathy.
The complete interviews with all four former presidents will be broadcast exclusively on NBC’s “TODAY” show, offering a deeper look at their perspectives as the United States prepares to mark a historic milestone.
