WASHINGTON, DC: Conservative podcaster and commentator Candace Owens has once again been highly critical of Donald Trump. In an interview with Piers Morgan, she called Trump a “chronic disappointment” and did not hold back her frustration.

She also said she felt “embarrassed” for previously urging people to vote for him. Owens added that Trump is no longer the same “candidate” she once supported. At the same time, she noted that voting for him was, in her view, the best option during the 2024 campaign, when he was competing against Kamala Harris.

Candace Owens calls Trump a chronic disappointment and expresses regret

During an appearance on Piers Morgan’s Uncensored, Owens was asked whether she had fully moved away from supporting Trump or if she could ever back him again. She made it clear that her past vote still stands, saying, “I don’t regret voting for Donald Trump above Kamala.”

She explained that, at the time, she believed he was the stronger choice compared to Harris and Joe Biden. She emphasized that her decision was based on what she saw as the best option in that moment.

However, Owens expressed strong disappointment with how things have turned out since then. She said, “he’s been a chronic disappointment,” and admitted that she feels “embarrassed” for encouraging others to support him.

She suggested that Trump’s actions have not aligned with what she expected when she backed him. According to her, “this wasn’t going to happen, and it is happening,” pointing to her frustration with the current political direction.

Owens also indicated that her view of his leadership has significantly changed over time. She made it clear that her current perspective does not match her earlier support. Looking ahead, she left her future stance uncertain, saying, “I don’t know where we go from here.” She added, “this is not the candidate that I voted for,” reinforcing how much her opinion has shifted.

Owens was a vocal supporter of Trump during his first term and throughout the 2024 campaign, often defending his policies and public actions. Over time, she has shifted her position and now speaks critically of him. Owens has expressed dissatisfaction with his foreign policy decisions, including his approach toward Israel, and has said he has not prioritized issues she considers important.

She has also used strong language in describing him, including calling him a “coward” and saying his “loyalty [is] to no one but himself.”
