NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Vice President Kamala Harris took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, March 17 to express her stance against anti-voter legislation passed by several states.

The necessity of taking a stand was created as more states across the country passed new voting laws in 2023, according to a report by USA Today.

The laws would be affecting voters in key battleground states in the upcoming presidential election, according to the publication.

While some laws make it increasingly difficult for Americans to take part in the election, there are others that expand voter rights. However, according to an October 2023 roundup of voting laws by the Brennan Center for Justice, at least 14 states have enacted laws making it harder to vote that year.

The vice president pushed back against such legislations making it difficult for Americans to register their vote and called it "extremists’ attacks" on the rights of citizens.

"States across our nation have been passing anti-voter laws," she wrote. "These laws have cut back early voting, limited polling locations, and made it harder for people to vote."

"We’re pushing against extremists’ attacks and working to ensure all Americans can exercise their right to vote."

Netizens did not buy into Harris' claims, as the following tweets demonstrate.

"Kamala Harris promotes voter cheating," slammed a user. "She supports mail-in voting and drop boxes. Both make it easier to cheat. Meanwhile, Kamala opposes voter ID. She’s doing everything she can to make our elections less secure. That’s because Kamala knows Democrats can’t win fairly."

"Nope, not one law prevents people from voting," mentioned another.

"No, you trying to open locations for stuffing ballot boxes," jibed a third.

"What you call anti-voter laws, I call voter integrity laws. Trust in the vote count is the only way any type of democracy can succeed," noted a fourth.

"You meant to say, ‘and make it harder for the democrat party to cheat,’" chided a fifth.

"You mean these laws prevent cheating which is the only reason your administration is in charge at the moment," echoed a sixth.
