NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Vice President Kamala Harris took to X (formerly Twitter) to slam former president Donald Trump for appointing three justices to the US Supreme Court who helped overturn Roe v Wade in 2022.

Netizens, however, were not supportive of Harris and blamed her and the Joe Biden administration for not doing enough to protect the rights in the first place.

VP Kamala Harris blames Donald Trump for Roe v Wade overturn

Vice President Kamala Harris shared a clip on X on Friday, March 15, in which she could be seen saying, "And in this healthcare crisis, let us all recognize who is to blame."

"The former president Donald Trump hand-picked three members of the United States Supreme Court with the intention that they would overturn Roe," she continued, before adding, "He intended for them to take your freedoms. And he brags about it."

"He said that for years, and I am going to quote, they were trying to get rid of Roe v Wade. They were trying to have Roe v Wade terminated, he said. And then he said, quote: I did it. And I am proud to have done it,'" Harris further said.

"Proud. Proud that women across our nation are suffering. proud that doctors and nurses could be thrown in prison for administering care. Proud that young people today have fewer rights than their mothers and grandmothers. How dare he?" she added.

Reiterating her stance, Harris wrote in her post, "Donald Trump hand-picked three Supreme Court justices because he intended for them to overturn Roe v. Wade."

Internet slams Vice President Kamala Harris for attacking Donald Trump

Kamala Harris faced backlash on social media for her take and slamming Donald Trump on Roe v Wade.

"You haven't done a thing except promote yellow buses. You are the least popular VP in history for a reason," a social media user said.

"Every Supreme Court Justice has been hand picked by a president," another said.

"I don't recall the Senate asking that question of the 3 Supreme Court justices he nominated. Senate had to approve them. Do you know how this works??? 😂😂" one user asked.

One person stated, "Many people base their hopes on her words, rather than on the record of all her failures."

"And for 51 years Dems did nothing to lock in/protect the protections that came from the original Roe v Wade ruling. So who is really to blame here?" asked another user.
