Internet blasts Trump as he tells Sean Hannity Roe v Wade allowed women ‘to kill the baby after birth’
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK TIMES: During a discussion about abortion with Fox News host Sean Hannity, former President Donald Trump claimed on Thursday, February 29 that Roe v Wade had permitted women to "kill the baby after birth".
Hannity, in a conversation with Trump regarding Republican losses in the 2022 midterms, suggested that the issue of abortion played a significant role. He stated, "The issue of abortion, I think it played a very big part."

Hannity queried, "You took a strong stand on IVF. Where are you on that, and what is your message to other candidates, and where are you on abortion?"
Trump responded, "So I saw the IVF and a judge in Alabama made a very harsh decision. It was very, very tough, and I came out immediately and I said we want to help women".
"This is fertilization, this is they’re having a hard time having a baby, to put it very simply, and they are helped by clinics and others. And all of a sudden it was stopped in Alabama, and I put out a very strong statement that we’re totally in favor of it," he added.
The former president recounted telling Sen Katie Britt (R-AL), "We want that, we want people to help, we are on the side of women," before adding, "Same thing on the abortion issue. The abortion issue, now, I’m for the exceptions like Ronald Reagan was for the exceptions."
He asserted, "I think it’s a very important thing the exceptions. I also think that they are the radicals, because they will kill the baby in eight months, nine months. Under Roe v Wade, they had the right to kill the baby after birth. I mean, literally, after birth in some cases".
"That was the governor of Virginia at the time," Hannity remarked, alluding to the contentious statements made by former Virginia Governor Ralph Northam endorsing late-term abortions.
Trump's misrepresentation of Northam's remarks on late-term abortion sparks criticism
In 2019, Northam faced criticism for his remarks in support of a failed Virginia bill that sought to permit abortions up until the moment of childbirth.
Northam argued that such procedures would be reserved for cases involving severe fetal abnormalities or nonviability, explaining that in instances where the infant would require life support after birth, "The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired. And then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother."
In light of Trump's comments, one person wrote, "I’ll never understand why they would think that someone could believe “up to and after birth" is even remotely true, or that it actually happens .. they really DO love the uneducated".

Why doesn't the interviewer ever correct him? No wonder he thinks that whatever he's saying is the truth.
