NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Vice President Kamala Harris took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, March 11, to slam former President and GOP frontrunner Donald Trump, sharing a video clip from her re-election campaign speech.

While Harris accused Trump of running for office to solely benefit himself, the Internet did not agree with her take and called her out.

Kamala Harris' tweet

"President Biden and I are guided by a fundamental belief - we work for you, the American people. And every day we fight for you," Harris states in the clip uploaded on X.

"Former President Trump has made it clear time and time again his fight is not for the people. He fights for himself," she continues. "He openly talks about his intention to weaponize the Department of Justice against his enemies."

"He openly talks that he is, quote, proud that he overturned Roe v Wade, proud that he took the freedom of choice for millions of women and people around America, proud that young women today have fewer rights than their mothers and grandmothers."

"He openly talks about his admiration for dictators. He has vowed he will be a dictator on day one," she adds, before concluding, "You know, the great Maya Angelou once said, when someone tells you who they are, believe them the first time."

Harris drove her point home by writing in the post, "Donald Trump has made clear his fight is not for the people. He fights for himself."

Internet reacts to Kamala Harris' tweet

Social media users slammed Harris' take on Trump, as evident from the following tweets:

"You are fighting for everyone but Americans," jibed a user.

"Biden & his administration. You included. Have been very clear about who they stand for, and that isn’t the American citizens. They’re more worried about immigrants wellbeing. They couldn’t give two craps about us at all. The @DNC @TheDemocrats have made their agenda very clear. It is to replace American Citizens," wrote another.

"How about you tell us why we should vote for you instead of telling us why we shouldn’t vote for your opponent," chided a third.

Another user quipped, "You guys talk about Donald Trump more than Donald Trump talks about himself. 😅"

"You know your own policies are terrible when your only pitch is to resort to ad hominem attacks. You make zero arguments and lose the debate every day of the week. Do better," stated a fifth.
