DES MOINES, IOWA: Former President Donald Trump boasted about his role in overturning Roe v Wade, calling the 2022 SCOTUS decision a "miracle."

Conversing with his supporters during a Fox News town hall on Wednesday, January 10, in Des Moines, Iowa, Trump explicitly stated his pride in reversing the constitutional right to abortion, which was a primary goal of the conservatives since it came into effect in 1973.

"For 54 years, they were trying to get Roe v Wade terminated, and I did it, and I'm proud to have done it," the Republican frontrunner bragged.

'We did something that was a miracle," he added.

President Joe Biden's campaign handle Biden-Harris HQ soon posted Trump's quote on X.

Weaponizing his predecessor's own words against him, Biden capitalized on the bragging by warning the voters that Republicans are against reproductive rights.

Sharing the clip on X, Biden wrote, "Just like he said: he did it."

"Nobody wants to see that happening after a certain period of time," he said, clearing his pro-life stance. "The radicals ... they're willing to kill the baby in eight months, nine months or even after birth."

Citing the former Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, who supported the bill for third-trimester abortions, the White House hopeful added, "These are the radicals ... We are not the radicals. But we're living in a time when there has to be a little bit of a concession one way or the other."

When asked about his stance on the criticism of pro-life Republicans after the recent electoral loss, Trump stated, "You have to win elections."

"Otherwise, you're going to be back where you were, and you can't let that ever happen again. You got to win elections."

Right to abortion access is among the top topics of contention in the 2024 presidential election, which will likely be a Biden-Trump rematch.

Internet slams Donald Trump

Outraged netizens are sharing their concerns about the future of abortion rights in the country if Trump enters the White House once again.

Many called out the former President for being proud of taking women's bodily autonomy away.

One user wrote, "Rare honest moment from Trump. He is a threat to YOUR freedoms. Let’s make sure people see this."

Another said, "Trump is proud of ending the right to abortion & taking away rights aka giving politicians like him the power to decide what people can & can’t do with their bodies. So he's def going to pass a national abortion ban and say what he needs to say to get back into power."

"Donald Trump will make it impossible to get a legal abortion in the USA if he gets elected again in November," a third user responded.

Someone else noted, "How many women are there in the USA? Imagine being proud of something that takes away bodily autonomy from all of them."

"Good reminder that Trump hasn’t faced voters since Dobbs was overturned. He clearly thinks he can fly above voter discontent with the decision," one user added.

Another wrote, "They celebrate putting women at great risk, damaging their reproductive capacity, and imposing terrible suffering because they want the power to control women. The more cruel, the better. These people are sick. And Trump is the sickest."
