Cedric Dewayne Robertson: Boyfriend charged after missing mother of four Nakita Chantryce Davidson found dead inside car

BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA: A mother of four, believed to have been abducted after a car crash, was discovered deceased two days after being reported missing. Cedric Robertson, her boyfriend, has been arrested and charged in connection with her disappearance.

Nakita Chantryce Davidson, aged 40, was discovered deceased on Friday, April 12, at approximately 3:18 p.m. Her body was found inside her 2008 burgundy Saturn Outback car, located in a wooded area.

The remains were discovered by the Crime Reduction Team of the Birmingham Police Department and the US Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Many of Davidson's family members spent hours on Friday afternoon waiting near the crime scene, according to al.com.

According to police reports, Cedric Dwayne Robertson, aged 37 and Davidson's alleged partner, was apprehended on Friday night by US Marshals.

When he was arrested, authorities stated that he was transitioning from one abandoned home on the southwest side of the city to another abandoned residence.

“It has been very heartfelt, it is sad,” said Sgt LaQuitta Wade. “It is a very, very sad situation. It is a sad day and it bothers us deeply because Nakita had four children who will be without a mother.”

Around 2:11 a.m. on Thursday, April 11, police received a report of a two-vehicle crash, initiating the search for Davidson.

Officers arrived at the scene but found no individuals present. However, they did discover evidence suggesting an assault or shooting had occurred.

Authorities suspect that Davidson sustained injuries in the crash and may have been removed from the scene.

Witness claimed Cedric Robertson shot a woman

According to court documents obtained, a witness claimed to have seen Robertson shoot a woman, place her in the trunk of her own car, possibly Davidson's Outlook, and then drive away.

Robertson has been charged with first-degree kidnapping, with further charges expected. According to Lederrius Swain, Davidson's brother, his sister and Robertson had only been dating for a little over a year, according to the news website.

“Her plan was to get away from him,” he said. “That’s what she was trying to do that night.” Swain described his sister as “one good-hearted person.” “She would give you the shirt off her back,” he went on to say. 

According to Swain, the family has not slept since Davidson vanished.
