WASHINGTON, DC: Central Command (CENTCOM) rejected several claims made by Iran about the ongoing conflict, calling them “fake news” and accusing Tehran of spreading false information about American losses.
In a public response posted on X, the US military command listed what it said were misleading battlefield claims from Iranian officials and countered them with what it described as verified facts. The post highlighted the claims with the label “ALL LIES” and followed it with “ALL FACTS,” presenting updates marked with green check symbols.
The statement came as fighting between the United States and Iran continues under Operation Epic Fury, which the US launched on February 28 to target Iranian military capabilities and sites it says pose imminent threats.
CENTCOM calls out Iran’s battlefield claims as ‘all lies’
The US launched Operation Epic Fury on February 28 to dismantle the Iranian regime’s security section and target sites posing imminent threats. Amid the strike, multiple claims and reports began circulating online. To counter what it described as misinformation, CENTCOM shared a post outlining what it called false claims and the corresponding facts.
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), CENTCOM said Iranian officials falsely claimed that US forces were withdrawing from the region, that Iranian forces had sunk a US destroyer, shot down American fighter aircraft, and killed 100 US Marines.
“More fake news from the Iranian regime: The regime claims US forces are withdrawing, they say they sank a US destroyer, the IRGC claims to have taken down US fighter aircraft, and the regime says they killed 100 US Marines. ALL LIES,” CENTCOM wrote.
The command then shared what it described as the actual situation on the battlefield. According to CENTCOM, US forces are expanding strikes deeper into Iranian airspace as operations continue.
The military also said American forces destroyed more than 20 Iranian vessels using what it described as overwhelming firepower from air, land, and sea.
CENTCOM added that the campaign has significantly reduced Iran’s ability to launch attacks. It said drone launches from Iranian forces have dropped by 73 percent and ballistic missile launches by 86 percent over four days.
“US military power projection capability is unmatched. ALL FACTS,” the command added. Along with the statement, CENTCOM shared a large image reading “Fact Check” with the United States Central Command logo.

CENTCOM also released a video highlighting the first “100 Hours” of Operation Epic Fury as US and allied forces continue strikes against Iran.
In the video, officials described the mission as “the most lethal, most complex, and most precise aerial operation in history.”
A narrator said the US military in the Middle East is carrying out a major operation to stop Iran from threatening Americans, something it said Tehran has done for nearly 50 years.
Another voice in the video added, “We didn’t start this war, but under President Trump, we are finishing it.”
According to CENTCOM, US and allied forces carried out more than 2,000 strikes in the first four days of the campaign. Officials said more than 2,000 precision-guided weapons were used from air, land, and sea platforms.
The command added that combat operations are continuing and will proceed until the mission’s objectives are achieved.
