NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On July 9, radio host Charlamagne tha God urged Democrats to respond to President Joe Biden's challenge to contest his nomination at the Democratic National Convention, noting Biden's "ego" after watching his recent 'Morning Joe' interview.

Amid growing calls for President Biden to step down and let another Democrat lead the ticket, Biden called into MSNBC's 'Morning Joe' on July 8, emphatically stating, "I am not going anywhere."

During the interview, Joe Biden also criticized the "elites" he accused of controlling the Democratic Party.

"The bottom line here is that we’re not going anywhere. I am not going anywhere," Biden told hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, both ardent White House supporters.

"Any of these guys that don’t think I should run, run against me. Announce for president, challenge me at the convention," Biden said as per Fox News.

The television personality and comedian aired the interview clip on his 'Breakfast Club' show and commented, "All I hear is ego, and I hope they take him up on his offer,"

He added, "Every single Democrat who feels like the Democrats can’t win if Biden is the nominee needs to challenge him at the convention. Take him up on his offer."

He noted that he has been questioning for months whether Biden and Harris constitute a "winnable ticket." "If the answer is 'no', then Biden should step aside. People shouldn’t be upset when folks say that — especially if y’all wanna win," he added.

Charlamagne tha God challenges Joe Biden's 'elite' label

Charlamagne tha God also dismissed Joe Biden's claim that the Democratic Party "elite" want him replaced, contrasting it with the supposed support from average Americans.

"What makes an average Democrat versus an elite Democrat? Because he’s been an elected official for 80+ years! So how is he not elite? What makes you an elite and what makes you average?" Charlamagne asked.

During the broadcast, the show also aired Trump's remarks during an interview with Sean Hannity, speculating that Biden might remain due to his "ego," but predicting Vice President Kamala Harris would step in if he withdrew.

"I do believe he will stay in the race, too," Charlamagne said. "I didn’t think, you know, Democrats could win before, but I really don’t think they can win now because the party is in such disarray."

Lastly, Charlamagne suggested Kamal Harris as the sole viable alternative for president, implying other Democrats would need to settle for vice president.

He defended questioning Biden's candidacy, arguing it's a necessary debate within the party.

Backlash follows Charlamagne tha God's remarks

Charlamagne tha God's comments on Joe Biden's 'ego' and his appeal to Democrats to challenge Biden's DNC nomination provoked backlash on social media.

One viewer said, "Pretty RICH when a dude that calls himself "The God" is criticizing Biden for having a big ego. Dumb and arrogant Charlamagne "The God" (Ha! what a joke) voted for the vegetable Biden and continued to support him until yesterday."

Another viewer said, "Two-faced, half-baked, low intelligence, celebrities are a clear and present danger to the United States."

One viewer noted, "So when will people like Charlemagne realize that the DNC machine has been lying to the media and the American people for who knows how long. But, specifically during Trumps time in politics. Russia hoax, quid pro quo, “Good people on both sides..”, Hunter’s laptop, manipulating social media platforms during an election and more. Like Trump in the Republican Party someone in the Democrat party needs to start weeding out the politicians that are not inline with their constituents and not the celebrities, elites, and the 2%."

A follower observed, "Well, its not like they're going to vote GOP. Even if they're 100% convinced that Biden shouldn't continue as commander in chief, they're not switching sides."

One comment read, "That was what the primary was for. They talk about free and fair elections but give no challenger a chance. Biden is your man Charlotte."

Another comment read, "Democrats are NOT losing because they are in disarray - that is just a symptom. The Progressive Democrat's failed agendas ( there are no policies ) is why Biden and his administration is losing. Just making up excuses."
