'Charlie Kirk Show' producer blasts Jimmy Kimmel for lack of apology: 'He is an unrepentant liar'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jimmy Kimmel’s emotional response to the fallout from his controversial monologue has ignited fierce backlash, labeling it a "fake and scripted cry line."
Andrew Kolvet, Turning Point USA’s spokesperson, blasted the late-night host as a “liar” who smeared millions of Americans mourning the death of Charlie Kirk.
Yes, Jimmy got emotional. So what. He’s emotional for himself because he almost torched his entire career.

Kimmel is an unrepentant liar who tried to blame Charlie’s assassination on the part of the country that just spent the last 2 weeks praying and holding vigils. What he’s…
Andrew Kolvet says Jimmy Kimmel was emotional ‘for himself’
Kolvet argued that Kimmel’s emotional remarks were not about Kirk but about his own career.
“Yes, Jimmy got emotional. So what,” Kolvet, who is also the producer for 'The Charlie Kirk Show' and a close friend of Kirk, wrote on X. “He’s emotional for himself because he almost torched his entire career," he wrote.

Kimmel returned to his ABC show after a four-day suspension for his earlier comment about Kirk.
The comedian fought back tears at one point, claiming his intention was not to make light of Kirk's death, and complimented Erika Kirk for forgiving her husband’s killer, calling it a “beautiful moment."

“I don’t think what I say is going to make much of a difference. If you like me, you like me, if you don’t you don’t… it was never my intention to make light of the murder of a young man”

However, he stopped short of apologizing to Trump supporters for his comments.
Turning Point USA spokesman calls monologue ‘fake and scripted’
Kolvet insisted that Kimmel’s return was designed to win fan support rather than make amends.
“Kimmel is an unrepentant liar who tried to blame Charlie’s assassination on the part of the country that just spent the last 2 weeks praying and holding vigils,” Kolvet, who is also the executive producer of 'The Charlie Kirk Show,' added in his post, calling Kimmel’s emotional response “fake and scripted.” He added that Kimmel’s words showed hostility toward conservatives.

“What he’s really saying is that he still thinks it’s fair game to slander conservatives. He would rather advance his own political and cultural agenda than confront the truth,” Kolvet continued.
Kolvet also accused Kimmel’s side of fueling division. “The truth is that his own side has been fanning the flames of political assassination for years. The truth is that someone on the left picked up a gun and murdered someone on the right who advocated for peaceful debate,” he said.
Turning Point USA demands apology from Jimmy Kimmel
Kolvet, in a post, laid out what he believed Kimmel needed to say to make things right.
“It’s critical that liars admit they lied. There can be no restoration without that. Anything short of that is a fake and scripted cry line designed to endear him to his fans, not to make right the wrong he committed,” Kolvet said.
Not good enough. Jimmy, it’s simple. Here’s what you need to say:
— Andrew Kolvet (@AndrewKolvet) September 24, 2025
“I’m sorry for saying the shooter was MAGA. He was not. He was of the left. I apologize to the Kirk family for lying. Please accept my sincere apology. I will do better. I was wrong.” https://t.co/YIR7JeFLIh
In an earlier post, Kolvet wrote directly to Kimmel. “Jimmy, it’s simple,” he wrote, before posting the apology he said Kimmel should deliver. “I’m sorry for saying the shooter was MAGA. He was not. He was of the left. I apologize to the Kirk family for lying. Please accept my sincere apology. I will do better. I was wrong.”

And he made it known...this is not NEARLY enough.

Kolvet also appeared on 'America’s Newsroom' on Fox News, telling Bill Hemmer that he expected an apology from Kimmel. “An apology,” Kolvet said, “was one thing he would have liked to hear from the ABC host on Tuesday night.” He added that Kimmel’s words had devalued conservatives. “When somebody like Jimmy Kimmel says that the shooter of Charlie was MAGA, what he is really saying is it’s okay to lie about conservatives. That their lives don’t matter,” Kolvet said.
“That his agenda, his political agenda and cultural agenda, is more important than the life of my friend who was just taken from us and robbed from us.”
