Cher's son Elijah Allman says he doesn't 'need need her unsolicited help' as conservatorship plea denied
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Cher’s request to become her son Elijah Blue Allman’s temporary conservator was reportedly dismissed by a judge on Friday, January 5.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Jessica A Uzcategui rejected the ‘Goddess of Pop’ plea, stating she and her legal team had not provided Allman and his attorneys with the required documents.
The judge also mentioned the actress’ lawyers did not give ample amount of time to the other party to prepare their case, the Associated Press reported.
Another hearing has been slated for January 29.
‘Elijah is substantially unable to manage his financial resources’
This came after Cher requested the conservatorship of her son a few days ago.
In her request, she reportedly told the court, “Elijah is substantially unable to manage his financial resources due to severe mental health and substance abuse issues.”
The petition by the actress stated, “Elijah is entitled to regular distributions from a trust established by his father for his benefit, but given his ongoing mental health and substance abuse issues, Petitioner is concerned that any funds distributed to Elijah will immediately be spent on drugs, leaving Elijah with no assets to provide for himself, and putting Elijah’s life at risk.”
The ‘Believe’ singer also accused her estranged daughter-in-law in her court papers and noted Marieangela 'Queeny' King “is not supportive of Elijah’s recovery and that Angela actively works to keep Elijah from getting clean and sober or receiving mental health treatment that he desperately needs.”

Her filing added, “Most recently, petitioner is informed and believes that Angela took steps to check Elijah out of the treatment center where he was receiving much-needed medical care.”
‘Under no circumstances am I comfortable having my mom as my conservator’
However, Allman slammed Cher's allegations as he gave his official statement before the hearing in the conservatorship case.
He said, as per Daily Mail, “Like many people, I have struggled with addiction and spent money in ways that have not always been the most responsible.
“However, I am now under the care of Dr Howard Samuels and am attending AA meetings.”

Allman also asserted, “Under no circumstances am I comfortable having my mom as my conservator. I am clean and sober from illicit substances for over 90 days now and am fully capable of and committed to managing the money I receive quarterly from the trust left by my late father.”
The musician added, "While I understand that my mother, the proposed conservator, believes she is looking out for my best interests and I appreciate her love and support, I do not need her unsolicited help or support at this time.”
