Internet worried as Cher's son Elijah Allman stops divorce from wife she accused of enabling his addiction

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A lawyer of Elijah Blue Allman has reportedly filed a new request in court on his behalf regarding his and his estranged wife’s ongoing divorce process.

The 47-year-old troubled son of Cher now wants to drop the divorce from Marieangela King, RadarOnline.com reported.

Allman’s attorney Larry Ginsberg made the plea in court on January 2, requesting the “entire action of all parties and all causes of actions” be disregarded.

But “sums due pursuant to the temporary support stipulation remain due and owing.”

Regina Ratner, a lawyer of King, told The New York Post, "They have been working on reconciling since April and that has happened now."

Allman and King got married in 2013 before the former filed for divorce nearly three years ago.

However, no decision has been taken yet.

‘Elijah is substantially unable to manage his financial resources’

This came days after Cher requested a court to declare her Allman’s conservator.

In her filing, the 77-year-old actress reportedly said, “Elijah is substantially unable to manage his financial resources due to severe mental health and substance abuse issues.”

The papers continued, “Elijah is entitled to regular distributions from a trust established by his father for his benefit, but given his ongoing mental health and substance abuse issues, Petitioner is concerned that any funds distributed to Elijah will immediately be spent on drugs, leaving Elijah with no assets to provide for himself, and putting Elijah’s life at risk.”

Besides, Cher also dragged her estranged daughter-in-law in her petition, alleging King “is not supportive of Elijah’s recovery and that Angela actively works to keep Elijah from getting clean and sober or receiving mental health treatment that he desperately needs.”

“Most recently, petitioner is informed and believes that Angela took steps to check Elijah out of the treatment center where he was receiving much-needed medical care,” the petition added.

But recently, King slammed the ‘Moonstruck’ star's accusations.

She told Page Six, “I have always been a champion for the sober community and for Elijah’s sobriety. … What I am not ok with are establishments that exclude me (his wife) from being part of Elijah’s treatment and hopeful recovery.”

Her spokesperson also added, “And despite a clear pattern of being habitually bulldozed over and repeatedly undermined, a pattern that has existed throughout her 10-year marriage, Ms King wholly rejects any inference that she is incapable of caring for her husband or making sound medical and/or financial decisions on his behalf.”
