MONTECITO, CALIFORNIA: Chris Pratt celebrated father-in-law Arnold Schwarzenegger's 79th birthday with a playful Instagram Stories tribute on Thursday, July 30, reflecting the Hollywood icon's signature style.
The post featured the pair in coordinated outfits as Schwarzenegger continued his annual birthday tradition of encouraging others to embrace fitness. The celebrations further reflected the close bond within the Schwarzenegger family.

Pratt paid tribute to Schwarzenegger by posting a photo of the two wearing nearly identical navy blue button-up shirts with similarly colored pants. In the image, he wrapped his arm around Schwarzenegger’s shoulder while joking about their matching style.
“Happy Birthday Schwarzenegger. Here’s to many more years of suspiciously coordinated outfits. Coincidence? Jury’s still out,” Pratt wrote alongside the photo shared. Schwarzenegger marked his own birthday in a familiar fashion by encouraging people to begin their fitness journey.
Sharing two photos of himself wearing sunglasses while performing a lat pulldown and a biceps curl at what appeared to be Gold’s Gym in Venice, Los Angeles, he wrote, “I turn 79 today. I don’t want any gifts. Instead, my team and I are turning the fitness industry upside down.”
He announced that first-time users of the Pump Club fitness app could try the service free for seven days before paying $100 for the first year through August 9. He added that anyone who completes four programs would receive their $100 back.
“No fine print. Show up, do the work, and your first year is free. Link in bio. Go,” he wrote, adding that the Pump Club “crusade” is backed by him rather than “a private equity fund or a hedge fund.”
Reflecting on his lifelong commitment to fitness, Schwarzenegger concluded, “I’ve been trying to get people to train for six decades, and I finally found something that works. If I can make millions of you train all year, I’ll take the loss.”

Pratt and Arnold’s daughter, Katherine Schwarzenegger, began dating in 2018 before marrying in June 2019. The couple share three children: daughters Lyla Maria and Eloise Christina, along with son Ford Fitzgerald. He is also father to 13-year-old son Jack Pratt, whom he shares with former wife Anna Faris.
Schwarzenegger previously spoke about watching Katherine become a parent during the 2023 premiere of his Netflix series 'Fubar'. “It’s nice to see your kids having kids themselves and to watch this new dimension,” the former California governor said.
He continued, “You see them growing up, and you see them going to school and getting smart and getting their degrees, getting their jobs and all this, but now seeing them be a parent? It’s fantastic.” Earlier this year, she also reflected on the lesson she learned from her parents.
“I think the most important thing [they’ve passed down] is that unconditional love is the most important part of being a parent,” she said, adding, “And what I think my parents have done for me is that I’ve felt unconditionally loved at all phases of life.”
Arnold and Maria Shriver have continued to support one another despite their separation. In 2025, Shriver said she was “proud” of how they maintained open communication over the years and added, “We laugh a lot about our kids, our grandkids, ourselves, and we are proud of the fact that we are still in conversation. For almost 50 years."
