Chris Pratt, Stephen King and other celebs react to Charlie Kirk's death: 'Praying for his family'

OREM, UTAH: Conservative commentator and President Donald Trump's ally Charlie Kirk was shot while attending a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on Wednesday, September 10. He died after being rushed to the hospital.

Kirk's untimely death sent shockwaves across the globe, as the political commentator was just 31 years old. Many politicians from both parties paid tribute to Kirk and offered prayers for his family. Numerous celebrities also took to social media to post tributes in memory of Trump's ally.

Celebrities pay homage to Charlie Kirk

Actor Chris Pratt paid tribute to Charlie Kirk and wrote on X, "Praying for Charlie Kirk right now, for his wife and young children, for our country. We need God’s grace. God help us."



 

Meanwhile, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy mentioned in an X post that the shooting was not an issue that should be Republican vs Democrat. "RIP Charlie Kirk. It doesn’t matter what your opinion is of Charlie or his politics if you don’t view this as one of the darkest days in American history, then you are part of the problem,” he wrote. 



 

Former 'The View' host Meghan McCain also responded to Kirk's death, saying the shooting was not going to stop conservatives from speaking out. She wrote on X, "Rest in peace Charlie Kirk. The mark you have made on the world will forever be a blessing and memory. We pray for your eternal rest with our Lord. May God bless your family always and be with your children and wife Erika."



 

In a follow-up post, she added, "If you think you’re going to scare and silence conservatives to stop speaking and fighting for truth, God, America, family and the soul of our country – you’ve never met one of us."



 

Similarly, former race driver Danica Patrick said in a message posted on her Instagram stories that we are in a mental health crisis. She wrote, "What is wrong with people? We have an epidemic of mental illness. Praying so much for his family and everyone who knows him and loves him."

Internet personality Jake Paul also mentioned mental health in a post on X. "Charlie Kirk got shot for telling the truth. That is literally it. What a mentally sick time we are living through We need god more than ever Praying for Charlie’s family and praying for these evil people to heal," he wrote.



 

Piers Morgan calls the shooting 'appalling'

English broadcaster Piers Morgan called Charlie Kirk's shooting death "appalling." He wrote, "An appalling assault on free speech and democracy. Charlie always welcomed debate, with anyone. This is disgusting, and heart-breaking. RIP Charlie."



 

Meanwhile, former NFL star Brett Favre expressed his shock after learning of Kirk's death. "I’m at a loss for words. Only thing I can think of is tragic. Please keep Charlie Kirk and his family in your prayers….," Favre wrote on X.



 

Author Stephen King also weighed in, calling the shooting "another example of American gun violence." He posted on X, "The motivation of the man who shot Charlie Kirk isn’t clear (although he’s probably mentally unstable–duh). What is clear is it was another example of American gun violence."



 

President Donald Trump announced the news of Kirk's death in a Truth Social post. He wrote, "The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie."



 

He added, "He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!"
