Brett Favre appears to accuse Netflix of ‘going after’ him with documentary due to his support for Trump

SUMRALL, MISSISSIPPI: NFL legend Brett Favre recently appeared to amplify claims that Netflix has been smearing him in a new documentary due to his staunch support for President Donald Trump.
The streaming giant’s documentary on the Hall of Famer, titled 'Untold: The Fall of Favre', focuses on infamous harassment allegations against him and his connection to a $94 million welfare scam in his native Mississippi.
The 55-year-old Favre was accused of sending explicit images to a female New York Jets employee, Jenn Sterger, in 2008. And, while he denied sending the photos when the story surfaced in 2010, he did acknowledge sending her voice messages.

The Super Bowl winner has faced other wrongdoing claims, including the aforementioned welfare scam, which resulted in six arrests when the state auditor discovered $94 million in alleged fraud.
Favre was never indicted in the case, but he was forced to pay $1 million in repayments to the government despite his refusal to knowingly receiving welfare funds.
Champion. MVP. Hall of Famer. But that's not the whole story.

Brett Favre believes Netflix is attacking him for being a Donald Trump supporter
Now, Brett Favre appears to believe that Netflix has been highlighting his past scandals in the new documentary to tarnish his public image due to his support for Donald Trump.
The former Jets star did not say as much, but has amplified those opinions to his 462k followers on X, according to the Daily Mail.
Earlier this week, he reposted a post from conservative comedians Hodge Twins, reading: “Netflix is going after @BrettFavre for being an outspoken Trump supporter. We stand with Brett Favre.”

Favre also reposted criticism of the Netflix documentary from one podcaster named Steve, who wrote, “Haven’t you ever noticed that these 'scandals’ seem to pop up (or again) every single time a famous individual vocally supports President Trump?”
"Brett has been under constant attack from the mainstream media, and also now today, Netflix… Tonight, a new documentary premieres on Netflix attempting to tarnish his name," the post said.

"We all know that if he weren’t a Conservative, this would not be happening right now. Was this a hit documentary because Donald Trump won the 2024 election? That has yet to be determined. With that being said, I support.@BrettFavre! One of the greats!" Steve’s post continued.
Not only did Favre amplify the posts, but he also responded to one supporter who minimized the NFL legend's role in a Mississippi welfare scandal.

Brett Favre’s support for Donald Trump
Brett Favre has been a big-time Donald Trump supporter. The NFL legend endorsed the president in 2020 because of his stance on freedom of speech, gun rights, and support for the military and police after a summer of racial unrest following the death of George Floyd.
Last year, he even spoke at a Trump rally in October just before the election, where he claimed that it would be “insane” to vote for Kamala Harris.

“We’ve already had President Trump once — we’ve already seen Kamala in action. We can compare, and we know which is better,” Favre said at the rally, according to the New York Post.
“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results … It would be insane to give Kamala four more years in office. So it’s time to bench Kamala and put in the star quarterback,” he insisted.
“USA is a great country. But we all know this: Kamala broke it. Trump will fix it. I have lived the American dream, but I want to make sure that future generations get to as well. So remember this: Let’s make America great again,” Favre added at that time.
