Chuck Schumer calls Zohran Mamdani's win a repudiation of the Trump agenda

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer celebrated the overall sweep of Democratic victories, framing them as a decisive message against the opposition's policies. Schumer described the election results as a “repudiation of the Trump agenda.”

In a statement, he said, “The cruelty, chaos, and greed that define MAGA radicalism and are skyrocketing costs were firmly rejected by the American people.”

Schumer also tied the electoral success to the party's emphasis on economic issues, saying it “was a good night for working families who’ve struggled with endlessly rising costs and felt unheard for far too long. Tonight, their voices were heard loud and clear.”

Hakeem Jeffries celebrates Democratic party's return

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries used the series of Democratic electoral wins to declare his party’s renewed strength and dismissed any premature reports of its demise. Jeffries said on X, "Enough with the premature obituaries. The Democratic Party is back."

He further stated, “Democrats are smoking Donald Trump and Republican extremists throughout the country.”

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez lauds 'heroic effort' and new leadership

Speaking at Mamdani's mayoral victory party in Brooklyn, Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez referred to his campaign as a "heroic effort" and positioned the win as a large step for a new generation of leadership challenging the establishment.

Ocasio-Cortez described how tough the progressive's battle was, and told MSNBC, “They were not just tasked with defeating a Republican. They were also tasked with defeating the old guard of the Democratic Party that essentially led us to many of the perils of this moment. So he had a two-front war to win, which is what makes his victory so deeply impressive.”

Jamie Raskin celebrates Zohran Mamdani's win

Maryland Congressman Jamie Raskin celebrated Zohran Mamdani's victory with a tweet, framing it as a triumph for democratic principles over wealth.

Raskin stated, "Tonight, New York City said no to billionaire oligarchs and yes to strong democracy, freedom and opportunity for all. Congratulations to America’s newest Mayor, @ZohranKMamdani!”
