Cindy Crawford's daughter Kaia Gerber reveals childhood exorcism: 'I was told I was possessed'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Cindy Crawford’s daughter, Kaia Gerber, is looking back on an unusual childhood experience involving alleged possession, an unconventional exorcism, and her mother’s concerns about supernatural experiences.
The 24-year-old model and actress also reflected on growing up under public scrutiny, including comparisons with her famous mother. Her comments came as she discussed her career, family connections, and struggles with body image.
Kaia Gerber feels she attracts 'beings from other dimensions in a very casual and chill way'
During a Friday, August 14, interview on 'The Mitch Churi Chat Show', Gerber recalled her mother, Crawford, giving her holy water before she went to the set for 'American Horror Story' Season 10.
“My mom gave me holy water to go to set,” she said, explaining that Crawford told her, “I don’t want you to get possessed. I was told I was possessed as a child.” Gerber also claimed that she had been “haunted [her] whole life.”
“I do feel I attract beings from other dimensions in a very casual and chill way,” she quipped. Gerber also alleged that she “actually did” undergo an exorcism to ward off alleged evil spirits, which involved a didgeridoo, an ancient wind instrument created by Aboriginal peoples of northern Australia, being played “all over” her.
She continued, “That’s how they did the exorcism. … That actually did happen. I’ve never talked about it, but it actually did happen. I’m all healed.” Gerber is the daughter of Crawford and Rande Gerber and has a brother, Presley.
Gerber has since followed her mother’s path into entertainment, finding success as a model before moving into acting with roles in 'Palm Royale,' Ryan Murphy’s 'AHS' and 'The Shards'. The 24-year-old also discussed growing up famous during a joint Vogue cover interview with 'The Shards' co-star Homer Gere for the September 2026 issue.
Gerber explained that fame was something she was born into, meaning she never experienced what it was like to become famous. “I, kind of, thought that my way of being raised was the most anonymous it could get under the circumstances, and then I met Homer [Gere],” she added.

Homer is the son of Richard Gere and Carey Lowell. Richard was married to Crawford from 1991 to 1995, while Homer recalled meeting Gerber on the set of 'The Shards' and acknowledging that their parents had been married just 20 minutes after meeting.
She also noted similarities between Homer and his character, Robert, saying, “I think Homer has Robert’s charisma without his cruelty.” She added that she initially believed she was unlike her own character, Susan, before the cast disagreed.
Gerber has also opened up about body image struggles amid her family’s life in the spotlight. Speaking to Vogue, she discussed being compared with Crawford and feeling jealous of her mother’s figure.
Gerber also revealed that she had previously struggled with “disordered eating.” “People are like, ‘You look terrible,’ and it doesn’t exactly make you go, ‘Oh, good. Let me get over this mental illness then!’ Negativity has never saved someone’s life,” she stated.
Crawford previously discussed how her daughter handles fame and balances her career with life away from the spotlight. She acknowledged the added pressure created by social media, adding that she was learning alongside her daughter while describing Gerber as someone with “a very good head on her shoulders” who was figuring out how to create a private-work, public-life balance.
