Cindy Crawford’s son Presley Gerber cremated days after his death at 27

SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA: Presley Gerber was cremated at Rose Family Funeral Home days after he died at a Santa Monica rehab facility at age 27, according to his death certificate, TMZ reported on Friday, September 25. His parents are reportedly planning to keep his ashes at their California home.

According to TMZ, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber will keep Presley’s ashes at their Malibu home. The family has not publicly commented on the cremation and previously asked for privacy as they mourned the loss of their son.

An official cause of death has yet to be revealed. Presley died on Sunday, the same weekend he checked into a luxurious $7.7 million sober living home, where he was receiving treatment for substance abuse and mental health issues.

A 911 recording obtained by Page Six revealed that emergency services responded to a call for a “cardiac arrest” and “overdose.” Presley was reportedly under the influence of a substance when he arrived at the facility.

The former model had previously been open about his struggles with addiction and mental health. Last November, Presley said he “had to step back and take care of my own mental health for a bit” while explaining a brief hiatus from social media.

A source who knew him personally described his struggles to Page Six, saying, “He had demons. Not all related to being a celebrity kid.” The source added, “It’s tough because you never know if someone wants to be your friend or wants something.”

Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber were always there for Presley

Presley is survived by his parents and younger sister, Kaia Gerber. Kaia was described as extraordinarily close to her brother, with an insider telling Page Six, “They were way more than brother and sister.” The insider added, “She is heartbroken. They were like best friends.”

In the wake of Presley’s death, Cindy has also been left “heartbroken,” according to a source who spoke to PEOPLE. “Cindy is completely in shock over Presley’s devastating death,” the source close to her added. 

A source close to Kaia previously said that the family was “in total shock” following Presley’s death. “They are saddened beyond words,” the source said, adding that Kaia loved how openly Presley discussed his struggles and that his family was proud he was finding strength in helping others.

Another source close to the family said that Cindy and Rande had remained consistently involved in their son’s life throughout his years-long struggles. “This was never a situation involving two absent Hollywood parents,” the source said.

“Cindy and Rande could not have been more supportive of Presley. They were always there for him and did everything they could to help him. The family has always been incredibly close, and Presley was deeply loved,” he added.
