WASHINGTON, DC: Jimmy Kimmel escalated his feud with President Donald Trump following the Thanksgiving turkey pardoning ceremony at the White House.

On his recent late-night show, Kimmel poked fun at Trump’s attack on Illinois governor JB Pritzker and highlighted odd moments from the event, including Trump suggesting the turkeys be named “Chuck and Nancy” after Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi.

After showing a clip of Trump’s remarks about the Illinois governor, Kimmel’s audience booed, and he joked, “Happy Thanksgiving, everybody.”

He added, “I mean, seriously though, he says a lot of crazy stuff, in that same press conference he said there had been no murders in Washington DC in the last six months because of him.”

Kimmel continued, “There have been 62 murders in Washington, which already indicates a vivid imagination but then does he ever look at himself in the mirror and go, 'I am thin. I am so thin, I could comment on others who aren't.'”

He seemed confused by Trump’s long, vague response about the Illinois governor, saying, “I don't know if that's sarcasm or short-term memory loss. Either way, he really captures the spirit of Thanksgiving."

Trump calls out JB Pritzker at WH turkey pardon

President Trump mocked JB Pritzker on Tuesday, November 25, during the White House turkey pardon in the Rose Garden. He first criticized crime in Chicago before targeting the Democratic governor.

“I refuse to talk about the fact he is a fat slob,” Trump said, using a rhetorical trick to say exactly what he claimed he wouldn’t. He explained that he had cut a joke about Pritzker’s weight from his prepared remarks but decided to share it anyway.

Trump then joked about his own weight, saying he would like to lose some pounds but wouldn’t this Thanksgiving because he planned to enjoy the turkey.

He also took a jab at his predecessor, claiming Joe Biden’s turkey pardons last year were invalid because they were signed with an “auto pen.” “I am officially pardoning them… We saved them in the nick of time,” Trump said, applying his own pardon to Biden’s birds.

He also joked about naming the turkeys “Chuck and Nancy” after Democratic leaders Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi but decided against it. “I realized I wouldn't be pardoning them. I would never pardon those two people,” he quipped.

Seth Meyers roasts Trump's 'weird tradition'

Seth Meyers also took aim at Trump’s remarks during the Turkey pardoning ceremony.

Meyers began, "No matter who the president is, this is a weird tradition. But, as weird as it is, Trump can always make it weirder.." He added, "I think those turkeys were standing there being like, ‘Just f***ing kill us. Put us out of our misery.'"

He continued, "Also, don’t say the word ‘hunter’ near some turkeys, you’re gonna freak them out. They don’t follow politics. They don’t know what you’re talking about. They’re gonna think this whole thing is a trap.”

“It def sounds like you still plan on eating them,” Meyers emphasized. “'We’ve fattened them up for this pardon. And then, of course, the next step, we will baste them for justice.’ By the way, I think the turkeys were getting suspicious, too. Because Trump was supposed to pardon two turkeys, but when the time came there was only one present.”
