WASHINGTON, DC: Seth Meyers, known for his sharp digs at President Donald Trump, had plenty to work with after Trump’s latest White House appearance. At the annual Thanksgiving turkey pardon, Trump delivered a speech that left many scratching their heads, and Meyers didn’t miss a beat.

During his 'Closer Look' segment, Meyers quipped, “No matter who the president is, this is a weird tradition. But, as weird as it is, Trump can always make it weirder." Meyers went on to joke that the turkeys were probably thinking, “Just put us out of our misery,” after hearing Trump’s remarks.

For those unaware, Trump spent part of the ceremony taking shots at Democrats, including Joe Biden.

Seth Meyers roasts Trump over Thanksgiving speech

Meyers didn’t hold back when covering President Donald Trump’s latest turkey pardon ceremony. “The president participated in the annual tradition of pardoning a turkey today,” Meyers said bluntly. Meyers highlighted the strangest moments from the president’s speech.

Trump dismissed last year’s turkey pardons, took shots at Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, calling him a “big, fat slob”, and even mentioned Hunter Biden’s pardon.

“I think those turkeys were standing there being like, ‘Just f***ing kill us. Put us out of our misery,’” Meyers quipped. “Also, don’t say the word ‘hunter’ near some turkeys, you’re gonna freak them out. They don’t follow politics. They don’t know what you’re talking about. They’re gonna think this whole thing is a trap.”

Meyers said Trump’s speech only got stranger. He joked about the president’s reaction to the turkeys’ diet, especially Trump’s skepticism about their “MAHA (Make America Healthy Again)” label.

“It def sounds like you still plan on eating them,” Meyers said. “We’ve fattened them up for this pardon. And then, of course, the next step, we will baste them for justice.’ By the way, I think the turkeys were getting suspicious, too. Because Trump was supposed to pardon two turkeys, but when the time came there was only one present.”

Meyers didn’t let the moment slide, roasting Trump for failing to “keep track of two f**ing turkeys.” He joked, “Sounds like you either ate him for lunch or he got the f**k out of there when you started talking about fattening him up.”

Trump uses turkey pardon to mock Joe Biden and JB Pritzker

During the annual White House turkey pardon, President Donald Trump spared two birds, Waddle and Gobble, and added his own signature spin.

He claimed that last year’s turkey pardon issued by former President Joe Biden was invalid, tying it to his long-standing claim that Biden uses an autopen to sign official documents.

“The turkeys being pardoned today go by the names Gobble and Waddle. When I first saw their pictures… I was going to call them Chuck and Nancy, but then I realized I wouldn’t be pardoning them. I would never pardon those two people,” Trump said.

The president also mocked Illinois Governor JB Pritzker. “Gov Pritzker, if you’re listening, let’s get your act together,” Trump said, calling the governor a “big fat slob.” He added, “I refuse to talk about the fact that he’s a fat slob. I don’t mention it,” before joking that he himself would like to lose a few pounds.

The ceremony included a small hiccup when one of the turkeys, Waddle, was missing. “Waddle, by the way, is missing in action, but that’s OK. We’ll pretend Waddle is here,” Trump quipped, keeping his trademark sarcastic tone throughout the event.
