Trump slams Seth Meyers as 'deranged lunatic', says his anti-Trump comedy is 'probably illegal'
WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump criticized Late Night host Seth Meyers over the weekend, calling the comedian a "deranged lunatic" and claiming that the host's anti-administration comedy was "probably illegal."
Trump's direct response on Truth Social came after Meyers made a segment ridiculing Trump's persistent defense of catapults used on Navy aircraft carriers over the new electromagnetic system.

Donald Trump rips Seth Meyers' talent and ratings
Trump’s post on Truth Social on Saturday, November 1, focused on the comedian's attack on President Donald Trump.
The president, clearly not holding back after having watched the show, wrote, "Seth Meyers of NBC may be the least talented person to 'perform' in the history of television. In fact, he may be the WORST to perform, live or otherwise."
Trump, meanwhile, remembered the segment on the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System, which he has repeatedly panned in favor of older steam-driven catapults.
Noting his rare viewing of the show, Trump pointed out Meyers' relentless attack on his common-sense stance on the catapults: "On and on he went, a truly deranged lunatic," he wrote.
The president then asked why NBC would allow such an unprofessional, anti-American voice on its airwaves, rhetorically asking, “Why does NBC waste its time and money on a guy like this???”
He concluded by exposing the host's deep-seated bias as the sole reason for his employment, claiming Meyers has "NO TALENT, NO RATINGS" and is "100 percent ANTI-TRUMP, WHICH IS PROBABLY ILLEGAL."
Seth Meyers' attacks on Donald Trump and his desperation for ratings
This latest outburst is part of a running feud where the president has repeatedly called out the low-rated late-night host. The segment that sparked the latest presidential criticism showed Meyers resorting to crude, uninspired jokes, comparing the president's focus on essential military equipment to "Wile E Coyote."
Meyers even impersonated Trump, mocking the military's history by saying in character, "We used to strap our soldiers to the rockets and they loved it, but then everything got woke and they said 'You can't tie a person to a rocket,'" before saying, “But we miss those days and we're bringing them back.”

This over-the-top, politically charged material, which Meyers claims is a defence of "freedom of speech," is viewed by many as a desperate attempt to boost his lagging viewership by appealing only to the far-left segment of the audience.
Donald Trump's previous criticism of Seth Meyers
This wasn't the first conflict. Last September, Trump predicted Meyers would be the "next" late-night host to face cancelation after the brief suspension of Jimmy Kimmel. Writing on Truth Social, Trump dubbed Meyers a "total loser" and encouraged NBC to "do it."

Reportedly, an insider said that Meyers was shaken by the comments, while one TV expert predicted his exit due to a network shift away from highly politically charged content.
Meyers has remained undeterred, often targeting the Trump administration, including accusing them of "pursuing a crackdown on free speech."
