ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Tragedy struck Atlanta's Summerhill neighborhood on Monday morning, January 15, as a shooting unfolded at the intersection of Hank Aaron Drive and Ormond Street, resulting in the death of 46-year-old Dajuan Jackson.

Another individual sustained injuries and was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, according to the Atlanta Police Department.

Grieving brother mourns loss of Dajuan Jackson

Jackson's brother, Demetrius Lester, arrived at the scene to find his world shattered by the news of his brother's untimely death. A heartbroken Lester described his brother as someone with a "good heart" who hailed from a "good family."

"He is the type of person, if someone is hungry or needs to borrow some money, he will come out of his pocket and give them his last," shared Lester. “We are losing innocent lives around here and everything can be solved better than what the action shows and people end up getting killed out here in these streets," ANF reported.

The 46-year-old victim is survived by a stepson, a sister, and a brother, leaving behind a grieving family to cope with the sudden loss. As of now, the Atlanta Police Department has not disclosed any information regarding potential suspects or details leading up to the shooting. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Teen suspect arrested in high school football star shooting

In an unrelated incident, A'darius Jashawn Williams, 19, was arrested on January 2 in connection with the murder case in Manchester. This followed the tragic death and disappearance of a talented high school football player, Brandon Smith, 17, who was shot behind a residence in Georgia just a day before his anticipated championship victory, MEAWW reported.

Williams now faces charges for the shooting death of 17-year-old, a defensive lineman for Manchester High School, which occurred around December 7. Smith's family reported him missing two days later. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), assigned to probe Smith's disappearance, has determined that an altercation transpired between Williams and Smith, leading to the fatal shooting.

The specifics of the dispute remain undisclosed as the investigation continues. The nature of any prior interactions between the two teenagers remains unclear at this point.
