MOUNTAIN VIEW, CALIFORNIA: The California Highway Patrol (CHP) issued an "Endangered Missing Advisory" concerning two young boys suspected to have been taken by their mother on Saturday, April 6.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) issued the statewide alert on behalf of the Mountain View Police Department. The Bay Area's Mountain View suburb is known for its prominence in the tech industry.

According to authorities, Taylor Wu, 38, supposedly took her sons, Daniel Wu, 9, and David Wu, 4, using a Ford Escape SUV, as reported by NBC news.

Via an email, Mountain View Police Capt Scott Nelson communicated, "Taylor Wu is the two boys' mother and is missing along with the two boys."

'Endangered Missing Advisory' for Daniel Wu and David Wu seeks to raise awareness without causing undue alarm

According to a statement from the CHP, the children were last observed in a residential area of Mountain View around 1.30 am.

The issuance of an "Endangered Missing Advisory" by the CHP is intended to raise awareness without causing undue alarm, unlike an Amber Alert, which signifies imminent danger for recently abducted children.

Authorities have not indicated any specific peril concerning the boys thus far, though their overall safety remains a cause for concern.

The CHP specifically mentioned Santa Clara County, where Mountain View is situated, as well as Los Angeles County, for reasons that remain unclear, in the alert issued on Saturday via X (formerly Twitter).
