David Zwicker: South Carolina man faces charges for sending 9 emails threatening judge with physical harm

GREENVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA: A 36-year-old man from South Carolina has been arrested and charged with sending threatening messages to a judge via email.
The accused has been identified as David Matthew Zwicker.

David Zwicker faces criminal charges after sending threatening emails
As per the announcement from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division on Friday, David Matthew Zwicker faces several charges including threatening the life or safety of a public official, intimidating court officials, second-degree harassment, and unlawful communication as per AOL.
Zwicker allegedly sent an email to a judge, whose name was not disclosed, containing a threat of physical harm, stating, "I’ll rip your face off on Jan. 14," according to affidavits.
An investigation revealed that Zwicker sent a total of nine separate emails between December 30th and January 19th to the public official, seemingly with no legitimate purpose other than to cause mental or emotional distress.
Zwicker was subsequently booked at the Spartanburg Detention Center. The 13th Circuit Solicitor's Office in Greenville County will handle the prosecution of the case, as per SLED.
Michael Tomasi arrested in Arizona for threatening to kill FBI agents
A 37-year-old man from Arizona was arrested for threatening to kill federal officials and other public servants on social media. When Michael Tomasi was arrested on December 15, the police found many weapons and more than 5,000 rounds of ammunition.
He was charged with three counts of threatening a federal official and three counts of making threats across states.
The charges were based on the messages he posted on social media, where he talked about wanting to cause violence and hurt elected officials, judges, federal workers, and police officers.
His messages, from May 2021 to November 2023, included threats against FBI agents, like saying to shoot them without questions. He also talked about hurting a former federal official, harming a congresswoman, and killing a congressman.
When the FBI interrogated him after he was arrested, he admitted to making these threats. He said he was drinking heavily when he wrote those messages and told them about his history of excessive drinking.
