POLK COUNTY, FLORIDA: Davie Albarran, a man featured on 'America’s Most Wanted', has been arrested by Polk County authorities.
This significant development came about after his daughters, Ana and Yaneiry, launched a TikTok campaign to locate the suspect who was accused of sexually assaulting two children.
Who is Davie Albarran?
Albarran, 51, was detained on Sunday, February 18, in Lakeland, Polk County, Florida, on charges of sexual battery and lewd conduct involving a child under 12.
After 451 days of evading capture, he was found hidden in a shed. His arrest followed a relentless campaign by his daughters, Ana and Yaneiry, who utilized TikTok to garner support and attention, amassing hundreds of thousands of views.
Their efforts, coupled with Albarran's feature on 'America’s Most Wanted', led to his eventual capture.
How did Ana and Yaneiry begin their pursuit of finding their father?
Since initiating their campaign, Ana and Yaneiry have reportedly been approached by additional victims beyond the two cases for which Albarran has been formally charged.
The sisters began their pursuit in 2022 after their father vanished following their confrontation with him over allegations of assaulting a young female relative.
Subsequently, the sisters reportedly launched a public campaign to locate their father after his disappearance.
Taking to Facebook, Ana wrote, "Please share and paint the city with his face. He's on the run and the cops are looking for him." The duo used various methods, including social media posts, billboards, and videos that garnered hundreds of thousands of views.
Ana, who is in her 30s, alleged that her father had acted inappropriately with her and others in the past. Despite some family members allegedly aiding in hiding Albarran, the sisters remained determined to expose the truth.
Upon learning of their father's arrest, they celebrated with their family, marking the end of their long quest.
Ana shared, "We did it, guys. My father's in jail. After a f***ing year. Just thank you, because if it wasn't for ya'll he would've never been found, bro."
She further exclaimed, "I started screaming. I was crying. I was in disbelief."
Ana and Yaneiry expressed that it was the "greatest feeling in the world" and added they were his "karma," as per WFTV9.
