FULTON COUNTY, GEORGIA: Social media users went scorched earth as they targeted insults at a California resident facing charges for threatening Fulton County's District Attorney, Fani Willis, for overseeing the prosecution of none other than former President Donald Trump.

On the other hand, Willis also stirred controversy recently by skipping out on the county's inaugural Democratic Party debate on Sunday, April 28. Her absence left her opponent to address an empty stage, sparking widespread debate and speculation.

Fani Willis received death threats from a California man

The Hill reports that Marc Shultz, a Californian, has been indicted by an Atlanta grand jury for allegedly threatening Fulton County DA Willis. The threats are believed to be linked to Willis' involvement in prosecuting former President Trump.

The legal associates at the US Attorney’s office in Georgia, dropped a bombshell that Shultz, a 66-year-old from Chula Vista, California, is in hot water and the Atlanta jury has slapped him with charges.

The charges stem from allegations of transmitting threats across state lines with the intent to harm Willis, reportedly in response to her involvement in prosecuting Trump. Shultz made his initial court appearance in San Diego on May 2 and is scheduled for formal arraignment in Atlanta in June.

As detailed by The Hill, Shultz allegedly made threatening comments on YouTube livestreams on October 4 and 5, 2023, including remarks suggesting violence and murder towards District Attorney Willis, such as "will be killed like a dog."
